Irina's Pov:

Everything hurts, but not as much... it's just my head I think, that hurts the most. It's a soft bed, I don't think I'm there anymore...I feel somewhat cold, but I'm not able to move...

I slowly open my eyes and the blinding white lights hit me, I quickly close my eyes and then blink a few times to get used to it. My brows are furrowed, as I try to adjust to the sudden light. I look around the room, I'm in a hospital bed, that means I'm not there anymore.

I sigh quietly and look around for someone, anyone, then I see a figure sitting on the sofa in the room. My vision is still blurry, but I nevertheless raise my arm in the direction of the person, I see that there are bandages on my arm, as I move a little and wince at the pain. The person sitting on the sofa quickly runs in my direction, calling for someone as I'm not able to hear properly...

As soon as the person gets close to me, I started panicking, it was not something I did voluntarily, it just happened. I was so focused at that person, that I did not notice another person holding my wrist, checking for the pulse, probably the doctor, but I snatched my wrist from his grip out of fear. As soon as I did that, some nurses came to hold me down in place as the doctor injected me with something and I started feeling drowsy again. I was not able to see the face of the person sitting in my room before I passed out.

Karasuma's Pov:

As soon as I saw Irina move, I quickly rushed to her. She raised her hand in my direction, but before I could get a hold of her hand, the doctors came in for the check up and gave her a sedative. Everything was ok until now, but I noticed something that caught my eye, as soon as the Doctor held her hand for checking her pulse, she snatched her hand away. My brows furrowed thinking about it and I was lost in thoughts before the Doctor came to me and said,

"Next time she wakes up, I think she'll be calmer. Talk to her, listen to her, take all the time you need to make her calm from her anxiety and trauma, only then can we discharge her from the hospital. We need to make sure all her reports are normal and that she's in good health and healed."

"Yes...I understand..."

With that, another day passed and Irina did not wake up from the sedative, I could see how weak her body got, anymore medication and it could harm her.

I sat at the side chair while holding her hand, caressing her cheek and stroking her hair. I heard her snores and was a bit relaxed to know that she was asleep and not panicking like earlier. I softly placed her hand back down and went to lock the door and then sat on the couch to get some sleep.

I woke up to the sound of crying, I slowly opened my eyes to see Irina shaking and squirming on the bed, having a nightmare. I looked at the time and it was three in the morning, still dark outside and everyone was sleeping. I quickly went to sit beside her and started to shake her gently, but she was not waking up.

"Irina! Wake up....Irina..."

I decided to shout her name this time and she woke up, startled, still laying on the bed, as soon as she realized that I was, basically someone was sitting beside her, she quickly got up, wincing as she did and started to back away from me, fearfully looking at me and her surroundings. I raised my hand to reassure her before saying,

"Irina... it's me, you're safe now..."

She looked at me before stopping for a second, as if she realized something. I decided to wait for her reply and not overwhelm her.
