Camus walked in late for breakfast the next day.
"Got a job?" I asked.
He nodded.
"Where is it?" Ranmaru asked.
"In the giant tower Shining built." He answered.
"Oh, the place where we have the dance?" I asked.
"Yes, that's the one." Camus answered. "He wants me to perform the opening night."
"The one where we need dates?" Reiji asked. "Boo, that's going to be hard."
I smiled. "I'll be your date, Reiji."
Reiji looked up, confused. Ai, on the other hand, grabs my hand. "Chotto, _____! You're my date, remember."
I poked his nose. "You look so kawaii when you're jealous."
He looked a bit flustered. "Don't treat me like a child."
We kept on flirting.
"Get a room!" Ranmaru snapped.
I flushed and so did Ai.
Clearing my throat, I said, "Should I get started on your song, then?"
He frowned. "I'm sorry, _______, my baroness..." He said. "But Shining wants your Kohai to write the song, unfortunately..."
That broke me once more. "Sokka." I said.
They all gave me sympathetic looks. They knew I was unable to compose for myself because of this... Because of her... Because of my kohai, who was out-shining me... I've been in a slump. It was a very bad slump.
Ai put a hand on mine and wrapped an arm around me and kissed my hair.
"You're perfect." He whispered. "Shining is just testing her... You've already proved yourself, ne?"
I nodded, snuggling into his chest. "Hai."
"Ewww..." Reiji muttered, closing his eyes and pretending to gag.
"LIKE I SAID, GET A ROOM!" Ranmaru snapped.

A few days later, I found my kohai running after Camus. She was carrying a tray of sweets as Camus bolted for the door.
"Camus!" I called. "Matte!"
He turned on his heel. Haruka bumped into him and dropped the sweets all over the floor. All I could think was... This is what Shining chose over me?!
"Yes, ________, my baroness?" Camus asked, not caring about Haruka. That's what I liked about him.
"Can I talk with you for a second?" I asked. He nodded, and came over.
"Is your song ready?" I asked.
He nodded. "I can't stand that Kohai.... But that song..."
"I see.." I said. "Okay... Just wondering."
He patted my head. "My baroness," he started.
"It's fine." I said a little too quickly. "I'm fine... Everything is fine!"
I ran.
Nothing was fine. I'm not fine. THIS AGENCY ISNT FINE!
Maybe I should quit? Maybe I should resign?
Close to tears, I shook my head. Not yet... Not yet...
I'll think about it.

*time skip, night of the dance*

I wore a (fav. color) party dress with a silver cardigan, flats, and had my hair in a fancy up-do. Ai was wearing a tux with a lavender tie.
Reiji wore the same tux with a green tie.
Ranmaru wore the same tux with a maroon tie.
They were the only two who didn't have dates.
Camus had brought Haruka.
And, can I just say... No!
But, what can I say?
The song she composed was perfect.
Better than the one I had in my head.
I turned to Ai after Camus' performance was over. A slow song played. The roof was open, pastel lights danced across the sky, joining the sparkling stars.
"Shall we dance?" Ai asked me.
I nodded and pressed myself against him as we danced.
I sobbed silently into his shoulder.
Maybe I should quit after the Triple S....

Sorry it was short! I really have to go! Comment and Vote, arigato! ^_^
