"Yup," Rei-chan said. "Shocking, huh? He can still eat, sleep, age, and do things as humans can. But, I'm not really sure if he can get a full understanding of emotions."

"How did he become an android?" I asked, staring at Rei-chan now.

"He's a replacement for my best friend Aine, who tried to commit suicide and... well, is now in a coma."

I nodded as he continued. "And, if you notice Ai disappearing for a few hours, he's on a check up with the Professor."

I nodded again, and splashed Rei-chan, who cried out as the cool water hit his face. He splashed me back, and I squealed. Maybe it was the fact that I loved Ai so much that I didn't care if he was an android or not. Just as long as he was with me.

***

I laughed as I claimed the shower first.

"Zannen," I said to Rei-chan as I closed the door.

I washed out my hair, shampooed, conditioned, soaped, and changed into (f/c) pj's.

I opened the door, thirty minutes later, smiling as Rei-chan said, "Finally."

It was already dark out. The stars shone in the sky, the moon reflecting in the water.

I sighed, and stood out on the porch. I stood there for an eternity, loving the feeling of the night breeze on my skin.

Suddenly, there was a creak, and I turned to see my father. He frowned with so much disappointment, it hurt. "Turning into a slut now, huh?!" He asked, coming up to slap me hard.

I held my check, feeling the tears form. "Otosan, why are you here?!" I whispered.

"It's obvious! I came to get you, baka. I'm going to drag you home and punish you for what you have done. Running away, not following-"

"I'm sorry I'm not perfect, otosan.!" I whispered. "Demo, this is my dream. And it's coming true. I got into the master course!"

He laughed. "Funny, last time I heard you sing, you sounded like a dying cow! And the last time I heard you play, you messed up!"

That stung! The tears fell. Nothing hurt more than a parent declaring their disappointment right to their child's face. He grabbed me roughly, and had a death grip. "We're going home." He said dangerously.

"I will scream, otosan!" I warned.

"Sure you will!" He said, taking a cloth from his pocket.

I screamed. Loud, piercing the night. My dad slapped me again with an echo. He started to tie the cloth to my face. "Tasukete!" I yelled. "Dare ga!"

My cries got a bit muffled, but that didn't stop me. "Ai! Rei-chan! (Bestie name)! Ranaru-san! Camus-san! Sensei!"

"Urusei!" He scolded loudly. Another slap.

"Iie!" I yelled.

"Oi, teme!" Said a dangerous and familiar voice. "What're you doing to ____________?!"

The sound of a punch, and someone gently caught me. The sound of a punch, a grunt, a sound of a stick hitting a head, and the crash of someone hitting the water.

The cloth was taken from my face, and I breathed fresh, night air. Rei-chan, Ranmaru, and Camus' faces all surrounded me. So, that means the person that was holding me was....

"__________, daijoubu?" Ai asked, his breath tickling my ear.

I nodded, my body still shaking. I probably looked bad.

Rei-chan patted the top of my head. "Kinishinaide, mo ii." He said with an encouraging smile. I tried to smile back, but, it turned into a grimace.

"Daijoubu ka?" Ranmaru asked.

"H-hai," I said, yawning. "Just, shock, I guess."

I yawned again, feeling so tired. Ranmaru looked at my face. "Your face is all red and puffy." He said.

"Yeah, my dad slapped me hard every time I screamed." I answered.

"Well, I'll go tell sensei That everything is fine." Rei-chan said, he, Camus, and Ranmaru getting up. "Ai-Ai, keep a close eye on _________-chan, ne~"

The three of them disappeared into the building, and I fell into a deep sleep, snuggling into Ai's warm body, hearing his irregular, steady heartbeat. And for once, I didn't feel embarrassed, or even silly. I felt at home and safe.

3rd person POV:

Ai looked down at the sleeping girl in his arms. Wait, asleep?!

He groaned inwardly. "__________, we have quite a problem. I can't carry you, and I don't want to wake you up."

He sighed, and reached for his phone with his right hand, which was deep in his pocket. "Reiji," he said once the other boy picked up.

"Nani, Ai-Ai?" Reiji asked, the boy sounded like he was huffing, probably because he was walking.

"When you get back, can you get me two pillows and a blanket?" Ai asked.

"Doushita, Ai-Ai? You planning to -" Reiji started.

"Reiji!" Was the sharp, but, quiet cut off.

"Hai, hai, but, why don't you carry her inside?"

"I don't think I can, and I don't want to try, that might wake her up." Ai answered.

"Ever the gentleman." Reiji teased. "Hai, I'll get them for you. Ja."

"Ja." Ai said, hanging up his phone.

Ai looked down to ___________. She was between his legs, curled up, laying on her left side, her head and back pressed up against his chest.

He felt weird. In his chest, his heart was... Burning. And it hurt. Why? What was happening?

Your POV:

I awoke to unbelievably warm weather. What the, wasn't I inside?! I thought. Why is is so hot?

I moaned, turning to my right, to find a peacefully sleeping Mikaze Ai.

Oh my freaking! I must be dreaming! I thought again.

Suddenly, cyan eyes opened, and Ai was staring down at me. I yelped, and moved back a little. Okay, this situation was awkward.

"Nani ga attanda?!" I cried.

"Oboite nai?" Ai asked, an annoyed look on his face. But, somehow, the annoyed look also held curiosity, and maybe a little bit of pain.

"Ano... I was looking at the stars... And then... Did someone harass me or something?" I asked, truly not remembering.

"Your dad came, and tried to take you back home." Ai answered. "Reiji, Camus, Ranmaru, and I all stopped him, and the rest is history."

"Why did you bring me back inside?" I asked, hoping that my cheeks didn't look redder than they already were.

"I didn't think I was able to, and plus, if I tried, I would've woken you up." He answered.

"A-arigato, anyway, Ai-kun." I answered, using honorifics for some reason.

"Don't mention it." He said.

I smiled, and got out of the tangled mess of pillows and blanket, and stretched. There was still a week left of hanging out on this island. I better make the most of this vacation.
