Chapter Four

I woke up and put on my outfit. I put a jacket over my shirt. I did my make up and took my hair out of the braids. I put some oil and hairspray on my hair. I walk downstairs and no one's home. I ate some breakfast and brushed my teeth. I grabbed some money to buy mints before my date. I walked out and I saw my sister lying on the floor. I picked her up and put her on the couch. She's always getting drunk and I hate that I have to pick up after her. A drunk dad and a drunk sister. At least no one here is doing drugs.
I walked to school. As I was walking I got a text from Daniel.

Daniel:
Good morning beautiful ♡

Me:
Good morning♡

Daniel:
I can't wait to see you later.

Me:
Me too :)

Daniel:
I have to start driving so I'll text you later

Me:
Bye♡

Daniel:
Bye ♡

I got to school and I saw Julie and I walked to her.
"Hi Julie"
"Hi Katelyn. You look cute today."
"Thanks"
We walked to our regular hang out spot and waited for the others to show up. Julie was there and we were waiting for Rose. She walked up to us and she immediately noticed that I was dressed nicely.
"Oh Katelyn, who you looking cute for?"
"I have a date after school. It was supposed to be on Friday but my parents would find out. I couldn't let them find out even though they never notice me."
"Wait. You have a date!" yelled out Julie
"Yeah I do. He's a really nice guy."
"That's so funny to me. You always say that no one wants to date you but here you are.
"So who's paying?"Rose asked sarcastically but I knew she meant it.
"I'm not sure but I brought some money in case. I just really hope it goes well."
"Are you okay with the date? Considering what you told us about Brian."Julie asked concerned
"Yeah I'm fine. The guy I'm going on a date with is really sweet and always compliments me. He's also very respectful."
"Well if your date goes bad then I can give you a good time." Rose said teasingly
"Ew Rose stop." I said as I giggled
We were laughing until Isaiah came and asked what was going on.
"Oh Katelyn has a date with a cute guy after school." Julie told him
"Oh cool. What's his name?"
"Daniel. He's really nice."
"Okay. Be careful"
"I know I will"
I could tell that he felt uncomfortable. I mean we used to date but it's been a while since that happened.
We carried on the day while Rose kept telling all our friends about my date with Daniel after school. I was giggly the whole day. I couldn't wait for the school day to end.
I know this is my first date in a while but I feel like it'll go well. What if it doesn't? What if I barf on him? Or I get a giant snot bubble? What if he thinks I'm ugly? Or he doesn't like me anymore? I'm worrying too much. He likes me and I know he does. I just need to stop worrying.

School finally ended and I packed my bag. I zipped my jacket down as it had gotten a little warm. I walked to the bathroom and fixed my hair makeup. I walked outside. I texted Daniel.

Me:
Where should I meet you?

Daniel:
Nowhere

Me:
What? Why? Do you have to cancel?

Daniel:
No. Look up

I looked up and Daniel was standing in front of me leaning against his car. I saw Isaiah looking at me and him but I brushed it off. I walked up to him. I saw a couple of girls looking at him so I hugged him. He hugged me back.
"H-hey" I stuttered. I felt stupid for stuttering
"Hi. Are you ready?"
"Yeah. Let's go" I said as I went to grab the handle but Daniel beat me to it.
"Let me. I'll never let you open your doors."I giggled
I stepped in and he started driving. We were listening to music. Until he interrupted.
"Did you bring any money?"
"Yeah some."
"That's too bad. I'm paying"
"Oh no you don't have to. I can"
"No no. I insist. My treat."
We showed up at a restaurant. I stepped out of the car.
"Is this the place?"
"Yup. Do you like this place?"
"I've never been here. My parents never took me out to eat when I was younger and now I don't have time to go out."
"That's a shame. Well I'm happy that I'm the one taking you here for your first time." He said as he smiled. I smiled back
We walked in and waited to be seated. I heard a noise and I turned around. I tried to look for what made that noise. Daniel noticed.
"Hey what's wrong?"
"Oh nothing I thought I heard something"
"Okay"
We were seated and I saw them. I saw Julie and Rose. They were close to our table. Ugh I shouldn't have told them about my date. I texted them.
