Chapter Twenty

"Katelyn. Please wait."
"No!"
"Please let me explain." He grabbed my arm and pulled me to him.
"What?"
"I'm not going. And I didn't want to apply anyways."
"What?"
"I'm not going. I don't have the money to go. I applied back when applications opened because my counselor told me too but I wasn't going to."
"So you were planning to go when we started dating?"
"I only applied but I never thought I would get in. Either way I don't have money to go there so I'm not going." He sighed. "I'm not just gonna leave you. I love you."
We stood there in silence. Not knowing how to respond.
"I'm sorry for freaking out."
"No it's okay I get it."
"No it wasn't okay. I looked through your phone and then freaked out on you."
"You looked through my phone?"
"We'll not looked through. I picked it up thinking it was mine and I saw the email."
"Okay. Well it's fine. I'm not leaving you okay?"
"Okay baby. I'm sorry just thinking about how you were going to go and we did what we did. I was upset."
"I would have never had sex with you if I knew I would be leaving you."
He pulled me in for an embrace. He held me tight and stroked my hair.
"I love you Katelyn. I would never do anything to hurt you."
"I love you too."
He pulled away and held my arms.
"Are you ready for some hot cocoa now?"
"Yes please."
He tackled me onto my bed and hovered over me. He looked at me and I  started blushing. He grabbed my chin.
"Oh? Do you want more?"
"I don't know. Do you want more?"
"If you want it then I'll please you."
I started blushing harder and looked away. He grabbed my chin and turned it towards him.
"If you don't want to, that's okay. We can just cuddle and drink the hot cocoa I made for us."
"Yeah, let's just cuddle and watch a movie."
He kissed me and got off of me. He pulled the covers over me and grabbed my laptop. He laid down next to me. I looked up a movie to watch and put it on. He pulled me closer to him and handed me my hot cocoa. I started sipping on it and he handed me a cookie.
We were cuddling until my laptop showed a call from Isaiah. I declined it and played the movie again. Until I got another call from him. Declined. Another call. Decline. Finally I got another call from him.
"Answer it. See what he wants."
"Um okay."
I answered it and Isaiah immediately started yelling.
"Katelyn. I miss you. Come over." He was slurring his words. He's drunk.
"No Isaiah you're drunk. Leave me alone."
"Leave you alone? After our trip? No way. Come to me."
"No, I'm not going to, stop it."
"Why? Because of Daniel? What can he give you that I can't?"
"Hey shut up. Leave her alone she doesn't want you. You better calm down before I go over there and personally beat your ass."
"Tell that to your girlfriend. The one that slept with me."
"Why does that matter? That was a long time ago. She's mine now."
"A long time ago? Katelyn, you didn't tell him about the trip?"
"Nothing happened?"
"What happened on the trip?"
"Don't worry about it."
"Katelyn. Tell me now!"
"We slept together. You broke up with her and she came crawling back to me."
"Are you serious?"
"Baby no please."
Daniel ended the call and stormed out. I followed behind him.
"Daniel please." He started putting on his shoes. "Where are you going?"
"Anywhere but here."
"You don't have a jacket, it's freezing."
"Then get back inside. You're going to catch a cold."
"But what about you, where are you going?"
"Why should that matter to you? It didn't matter when you fucked Isaiah!"
"I'm sorry. It was a mistake. It didn't mean anything."
"Didn't mean anything? Be fucking serious katelyn." He sighed and started walking up to me. "Why did you hide it then? Why didn't you tell me?"
"I didn't think it mattered. It happened when we were broken up."
"We were broken up for like 2 days!"
"I'm sorry Daniel. Please come back inside."
"No, leave me alone. I don't want to talk to you." He turned around and started walking to his car. I grabbed his arm and pulled him back. "What are you doing? Let go of me."
"No, I'm not letting go. I'm not making a mistake again."
'Katelyn." He stopped resisting and pulled me in. " I'm sorry for talking to you like that. It hurts. It hurts to know that my girlfriend did that to me."
"I shouldn't have done it and to be honest I wasn't in the right headspace. Obviously I went to a whole different city. That doesn't justify my actions but I'm sorry."
"It's okay, let's go inside, it's really cold."
He carried me inside and we went back to my room. We got under the covers again and started watching our movie again. I feel guilty about it. I slept with someone else and he just forgave me so easily. I have to do something to make it up to him for doing it.
"Katelyn. "
"Yes?"
"Was he good at it?"
"Honestly?
"Yes."
"Yes he was."
"Better than me huh?"
"No actually." Daniel looked at me with a confused face. "You were better. I love you and I have a connection with you and that was one of the reasons it was better. You also did things that surprised me and made me feel good. Good about us. You were able to keep it interesting. You care about me."
"Oh. But one question."
'Yes?"
"Am I bigger than him?"
"Daniel!"
"What? I want to know!"
"Yes you are.
"Good."
He pulled me closer to him and kissed my forehead. I started to drift to sleep in his arms. I felt him pull me closer and hold my stomach.
I hadn't fallen asleep yet and I heard him talking to me in my sleep.
"I'm going to marry you one day and I'll put a baby in here. We'll grow a family together. You'll be my wife and I'll protect you from anything and everything. I can't wait to graduate with you and go to school together. I'll take you on so many dates and be there for you. I love you so much Katelyn and I want to make you happy."
I started smiling like crazy and slowly started drifting off into sleep. I fell asleep in Daniel's arms.
