Aaru was behaving differently for the past one week; especially after that party. She will get easily frighten sometimes . She was also having trouble in sleeping and one day she slept with Akshu, hugging her tightly; and Akshu just rubbed her fingers through Aaru's hair.

Akshu was noticing all these but she decided to give her some time. She thought that maybe she will open up herself at one point.

Few more days passed and one day Akshu just returned from her work when she heard a sobbing from Aaru's flat. She knocked the doors but no one answered. She turned the knob and the door opened.

As she entered Arohi's room she saw her in a terrible state. She was lying on the floor and her hair was messed up. She was constantly sobbing and her eyes were red blood.

Akshu immediately went up to her and hugged her tightly.

"Aaru , what happened?"

Aaru hugged back even more tightly. She was crying badly.

She remained silent and they stayed in the same position for few minutes.

Once she became calm, Akshu brought a glass of water for her. She combed her hair and washed her face with lukewarm water.

Akshu made her to lay down on her lap. While caressing her hair, Akshu said something to her in a soft voice.

"Arohi, you are restless for the past few days. For all I could understand is that you are going through a trauma. I am not going to trouble you by asking questions but I just want to tell you that I am here for you. If you want to tell me something or let go off your emotions you are free to do so. I am not going to judge. If it's not me then share it with some one else but please don't take it all on yourself because you may need someone to hold you strong though your ups and downs."

Aaru looked at her with an innocent face and then laid her head on her Akshu's shoulder.

"It's you only Akshu. I think I should open up to you only. Because no one is going to care for me like you do and I know that very well."

There was brief silence.

"I was just 10 when my Papa died. He accidently fell down from balcony. After few months my mother got married again.

My papa was my whole world; from my first teacher to my best buddy. I was already depressed after his death and I couldn't accept this sudden remarriage of my mother.

But again, I tried to accept the reality. But things went even worse."

She was talking slowly , taking deep breath in between.

"Her new husband was a beast Akshu. He never treated my mother properly. He used to scream at her and he vented out all his professional frustration by beating me very badly.

Mama wanted to stop him but she was too scared to do so. I still hate her for remaining silent when I needed her the most.

One day he locked me inside a dark room after beating me with an iron rod. I stayed there for two days without food and water and when I opened my eyes I was in a hospital.

After that, Mama decided to shift me to a boarding school. I visited home only during vacations and those days still remain a night mare for me.

My mom died during the first year of my college and I don't think it was a natural death. I was in hostel that time and soon left home after her funeral.
