CHAPTER 24

Akshara was waiting outside the OT when the doctors came out. 

She didn't knew how long she was standing there like that. Hours may be? All the while she was praying to every God she knew but at the same time she was blaming herself.

It was all because of her. He was having a peaceful life in Mumbai. He came here and put himself in danger only for her. If something happens to Abhi she will not forgive herself . . .

The doors opened and the team of doctors came out.

"Doctor, Abhi?"

"Don't worry Mrs. Birla. He's out of danger."

Mrs. Birla? Yes, that's what she wrote on the consent form before operation. That was the need of the hour.

"Any other complications?" she asked in a shivering voice.

"This time God was with him. I shall give an official confirmation only after 48 hours but I assure you, he will be back to life."

Thank you God . . thank you so much for being with him.

She herself had multiple scratches all over her body; she was in a close circle to him while the accident occurred. Wait? Was it really an accident? Right then, she got a call from Neil and she picked it up.

"Hello Akshu, we are on the way. Just a few more hours. How's Abhi?"

"He is out of danger Neil. He will probably gain consciousness by tomorrow morning."

"Thank God and how are you?"

"I am fine. . . Aaru?"

"She went to collect boarding pass. She will be coming with me although I haven't said anything to Maa. She won't bear the news."

Akshu didn't knew what to say. Somehow she felt like she was responsible for everything.

"Take care Akshu. I am sure when you are there with him, he don't need anything else."

She cut the call. The whole night she stood outside the ICU. He need to stay there for one whole day post which he will be shifted to room if his vitals are stable.

"Abhimanyu . . " he heard an unfamiliar voice echoing in front of him.

"Who is it?"

"The one  truth. . .which once tried to find you and the one truth which you are trying to search for now . . ."

"Aarti?"

"You will be back to life. I know that. Because you and Akshara has to complete what me and Akshay left behind."

"I won't give up. I need to live for my Akshu."

"Indeed. You will. Both of you are strong. Stay the same during every hurdle . . .because the bigger truth is yet to come. Go beneath the shallows Abhimanyu because what you see or hear will not be the real truth. . they can be a facade . .they wear masks Abhimanyu but don't fall for them."

"I am not able to think."

"You are sleeping right now. Once you open your eyes, you will see the truth. . .You will  see your Akshu. Hold on to it. Remember, Akshara can't loose you . . So wake up as soon as possible. She needs you and she is waiting for you!"

"Akshuuu . . ." He murmured her name as he tried to open his eyes. He tried to adjust his vision with the room light.
