CHAPTER 29

Naira saw Abhimanyu standing there like a defeated man, as soon as she stepped into that floor. She moved towards him restlessly.

"Abhimanyu?" she called him in a terrified voice.

He looked up to see Naira maa standing there. Without a second he hugged her and started crying like a small child.

"I am sorry maa . .I am really sorry. All I wanted was her to be happy but  . .but . ." He couldn't complete what he was saying.

"Shh . .I know. Aaru and Neil told me everything. It's not your fault. My child, she is just like her father; she will do anything for her loved ones. I know, my child will come back . .brave and strong." She tried to hold her tears and console him. But deep inside she was worried.

Akshu . .she is the last and best memory of hers and Karthik . .the symbol their love! If something happens to her child, she don't what will she do.

Just then, the doctors came out of the OT and both Abhi and Naira, went towards them.

"Doctor, how is she?" Naira asked in a terrified voice.

"She will be fine. Thank God, the bullet didn't went through her heart. We have removed the bullet. And it will take us another 24 hours to give a confirmation but we assure you, she will be back to life. 

She will be conscious by tomorrow morning. Mrs. Goenka, I will give you further details by then." The surgeon assured them and both of them thanked every Gods they know.

"You heard it Abhi! I told you right, my child is a strong lady."

"After all, she went after you maa!" Abhi knew whatever he said was correct.

Just then, Aaru and Neil came there after completing the paperwork, and paying the bill. Aaru didn't had any energy left after whatever happened to her sister. But she knew, she had to remain strong at this point just as Akshu taught her; if not for herself but for their mother.

"Maa . ." she gently touched Naira's shoulder.

"Bacha, our Akshu will be fine. She will be conscious by tomorrow morning."

Both Aaru and Neil felt relaxed. Finally, things were falling into its place.

"Neil, you drop Naira maa and Aaru at home. I will stay here." he said adamantly.

"No Abhi . ." Naira was about to object as Abhi himself was so tired.

"Maa, please. They only allow one person to be here. You guys go and take rest."

"You are the one who need rest Abhi!" Aaru told him and Neil nodded to it.

"Trust me, my peace is here; where Akshu is!" he said with a small smile and none of them argued with him further.

"Akshu . ." she heard a familiar voice. A voice that she hadn't heard in months. She saw Akshay standing in front of her. The place was totally unfamiliar to her but nonetheless, it was so peaceful.

"Akshay . ." she whispered his name.

"Finally, you and Abhimanyu completed what me and Aarti left unfinished."

"But you two gave your life for that cause."

He smiled at her words.

"Some things are so unexpected Akshu. We might think it happened in the wrong way, but when you looked back, you realize that everything happened for a reason. If it wasn't for everything, you wouldn't have realized what true love is . ."
