Odd one out.

The sorting

As we step off of the train, I see a man standing there near us 'y/n malfoy follow me' he says in a slow tone, I start to follow him and Mattheo walks beside me 'that's professor Snape, he's my head of house hopefully you'll be in the same house as me' he whispers 'is Draco in your house?' I ask, Mattheo just nods 'hurry up I don't have all day and Mattheo follow the rest of them we will see you there later' Snape tells us as he turns his head round. 'See you soon' Mattheo says as he jogs to the rest of the students 'professor Dumbledore wants to see you first so we can sort you into a house and get you seated with everyone in the hall' Snape tells me as we enter the castle. I look around as we walk to a stair case, this castle is huge 'step on and it will take you up, go on' Snape turns and leaves as I go up the stairs.

I arrive at the top and find one door that is open, I knock and hear someone calling me in 'Y/n Malfoy it's a pleasure to meet you, come in so we can get you sorted' I walk in and take the seat in front of the desk 'I'm Professor Dumbledore the head of the school, I'll get you sorted into your house and give you all your paperwork' he says as he rounds the desk and picks up a dusty looking hat before I can even say a word he puts it on my head 'Another Malfoy well there's only one choice for this one it's got to be slytherin' the hat spits out, it's pulled from my head and put back on the desk 'great I'll be stuck with Draco then' I think to myself 'here is your class list and here is your dorm number, your lucky you have a room to yourself this year normally we have to double up the rooms' Professor Dumbledore says smiling at me 'thank you Professor' I smile as I taking the paperwork 'well now that's done follow me and I'll walk you to the great hall and your brother can show you around later' he says as he walks to the door 'Like he's gonna do that I'll have to figure it out on my own' I think.

We get to the doors and walk in Professor Dumbledore points me to the house table and walks to the front as I make my way over to it, I look up and see Mattheo waving at me and pointing next to him 'at least he's saved me a seat' I walk over and sit next to him 'so my fellow Slytherin do you know what classes you have yet' he asks and I hand him my papers 'wow, looking at your week you have all but 1 class with me' he winks and hands them back 'oh and a room to yourself just like me' he says in my ear. I put my papers back just as Dumbledore stands up to his podium and everyone goes quiet, I look around at the people in my house and my eyes connect with Dracos he looks at me in disgust he about 3 seats down on the other side of the table 'great and it's in my house' I hear him mutter, I look down at my hands and see Mattheos hand side to mine taking it and holding on to it 'don't listen to him' he whispers and starts to rub circles on the back of my hand with his thumb. We sit there waiting for the New Years to get put in their houses and then the food appears on the table, I let go of Mattheos hand and pick some stuff I get some potatoes and a sausage 'that all your having' Mattheo asks 'yeah I don't want much' I say. After we eat I notice people starting to get up and exit the hall 'would you like a tour' Mattheo asks 'yes please' I answer a little quick. We both stand and Mattheo picks up my bag and papers and make our way out I take one last look behind me and see that Draco and his friends are talking while looking at us.

'Well that's all the class rooms and buildings so the only one left is the common room this way' Mattheo says as we turn the corner 'Riddle, see you've taking a liking to my sister then why is that exactly she's nothing special' Draco turns and says as we walk up behind them 'drop it' Mattheo spits at him and we stop walking just as Draco does 'she's the out cast of the family, nothing more than a mudblood, she's pathetic why would you want to be friends with that' Draco says quite loudly 'I'd shut up if I was you, I can pick who I talk to and if I want to be her friend I will Malfoy, so SHUT IT' Mattheo says though gritted teeth 'you may of kept her locked away from everyone but now she's free of your shit so if you really can't stand your own sister leave her alone because if I see you talk to her or even look at her I will end you right Malfoy' Anger rolls off of Mattheo as he talks and he steps up to Dracos face, I see Dracos face pales abit and he looks away 'fine' he mumbles. I step up to Mattheo and I pull his arm to get us moving again away from the Ferret and he follows me after a minute we arrive at the door 'pure blood' Mattheo says at it 'oh and when Draco Malfoy arrives don't let him in for at least an hour' he says to the door as it opens 'okay sir' the painting replies as the door closes shut, I burst out laughing 'oh my god he's going to have a shit fit when he cant get in' I laugh, I look at Mattheo and he has a massive grin on his face 'this way to your room my lady' he laughing as he shows me the way, we arrive at my door and he shows me the way to get it, I had to prick my finger and let a drop of blood hit the door handle after a second it dissolves into the metal and the door opens. 'I'll show you the spell if you want to add someone to your door' he says as we walk in. I stop in the middle of the room surprised you see my clothes already hanging in the wardrobe and all of my things put away where they should go 'oh yeah the house elf's do it all while we are in the great hall' he says as he walks over to my bed to put my bag down.

'Want to go to my room' Mattheo asks, I nod my head and we leave my room to head to his 'this is my room' he says as he walks in and as he closes the door he grabs my hand 'hang on, I'm gonna put your blood on my door so if you want to come in and see me or just get away from anything you can come here if that's okay with you' he asks 'yeah if that's okay with you' I reply 'I wouldn't ask if it wasn't' he says as he pricks my finger again and then does the spell adding my blood to the handle after we walk over to his bed and I sit on the edge 'you didn't have to stand up for me with Draco, you don't know me that well to put yourself out there like that with him' I say looking at the floor 'I wanted to, I see how he talks and treats you it's the same with my brother really, he's a dick, the family favourite and I'm just the little brother who has to walk in his shadow and do everything he has done but better. I knew who you were from the moment I saw you, I've heard about you from your mother she was talking to my mother' he pauses as he gets off of the bed and kneels down in front of me making me look at him 'I like you y/n you remind me of myself and I can't stand to see you treated like shit from anyone plus you should be happy I don't have friends all I have is the kids of my fathers followers trying to kiss my arse to keep in fathers good books' he smiles up to me and I laugh 'thank you Mattheo no one has ever stood up for me before' I say and I lean forward slipping off of the bed into the floor and I hug Mattheo, I feel him go stiff and I go to pull away quickly but before I fully can I feel his arms push me to him 'call me Theo' he says into my ear. After a couple of seconds we pull apart and we both stand up 'we should go to the common room Ferret will be let in soon' Theo says and I laugh as I follow him out.

We are sat on the sofa facing the hall where the door is by the fire, I hear the door open, I feel Theo move closer to me and put his arm around me 'I bet his face is red and he's pissed' he quietly says I turn my head and smile to look at him and see his face is very close to mine our noses nearly touching. We hear footsteps getting loud so we turn over heads to see who is coming in 'where is she, I bet she did it, I've been stuck out there for over hour. My father will hear about this' Draco moans like a child 'there you are' he says stomping up to me 'seriously give it up Malfoy you really think y/n did that' Theo says 'well...well who was it' he huffs 'seriously the way mother and father go on I thought there was a brain in your head but they were clearly wrong' I say out loud before I can even stop myself 'did you just speak back to me' Draco says with gritted teeth 'what if I did, I'm not gonna sit there and take your shit anymore brother' I say as I stand up. He steps closer to me, I hear Theo stand up and he moves next to me our shoulders touching 'back off Riddle' Draco says turning his head to face him 'why would I do that ferret' Theo says and I see Dracos friends take a couple of steps back clearly not wanting to get involved with this 'lets go Theo he's not worth it' I say and I walk away with Theo hot on my heels, we go to my room and I slam the door shut 'can you add yourself to my door' I ask Theo and he shows me what I have to do to add him and once that was done I lay on my bed with Theo the other side facing me 'lucky it's a double or this would be awkward' I laugh and say. We lay there talking for ages and the next thing I know I fall asleep
