Backstory

Time for a little glimpse into Blake Riley's Early Life in the DC Universe...

It was cold, dark, and rainy night. Thunder roared as lightning struck from above. Inside of a family home, a little girl peaked from the stairs to hear talking coming from three people. Two married couple holding a baby, were talking to a woman. The couple were wearing an interesting set of clothing, with two distinct masks that resemble a fox and a wolf.

Woman: "When will you come back?" She asked the couple.

Husband: "I don't think we will..."

Wife: "What we are about to do...it's dangerous and there is a possibility...we'll never come back." She said while sniffling.

Woman: "Don't say that. You have to come back! What about Blake? He needs you."

Husband: "I know...but if anything were to happen to us...promise us, Amanda. Take care of him."

Amanda: "Owen, Selina..."

Selina: "Please, promise us. Promise that you will give him a home and a family. To live a good life..." She said as she looked down at her baby.

Amanda looked at the baby, saddened to hear of the possibility that wherever they go, they won't come back to see him grow up. Amanda Waller had been good friends with Owen and Selina and has helped them out ever since. After a brief moment of silence, she gave her response.

Amanda: "I promise." She responded.

Then, Selina passed her baby to Amanda, as she held him close to her. Before they leave, Owen looks down at his son.

Owen: "Goodbye, my son. Whatever happens to us, know that we will always be with you. No matter what. We love you." He said.

Both of them puts on their masks and disappeared. The baby began to cry, as Amanda sat down and soothed the child. The little girl from before, approached the two. The girl was Leota Waller, the daughter of Amanda.

Young Leota: "Mommy, will they come back?"

Amanda: "I don't know. All we could for them is to help take care of this little one." She responded.

Young Leota: "Can I hold him?" She asked.

Amanda smiled as she gestured for her daughter to sit down next to her so she could hold the baby. As the baby rested in her daughter's arms, a smile formed on the little girls face.

Young Leota: "We'll take care of you." She said as the baby cooed.

As the days, weeks go by, Waller had received the news of her two friends, gone. Her worst fears had come true. Since then, Amanda kept her promise by adopting the boy, to which they named Blake, and raised him as her own. Blake lived an exceptional childhood, with Leota looking after him. One of her biggest highlights was hearing Blake say his first word.

Baby Blake: "Momma, momma." The baby said.

Amanda couldn't help but let a small tear fall. It was a magical moment, but it was also saddening that Selina never had this chance. This broke her heart. As she was spending one side as lovable and caring mother to her kids, the other was being director of A.R.G.U.S. as a very ruthless, dominating, and unrelenting person. With her reputation, she slowly rose to the top and became a high-ranking official in the US Government. She planned to her two children follow in her footsteps, but fate has other plans for them.
