Superman...is gone. The world mourns for the loss of their protector. Batman and Hot Shot must find a way to protect their world, as an imminent threat approaches from far away...

After being taken into custody, Lex Luthor now sits on a chair, wearing a prison jumpsuit and handcuffs. He was simply unfazed, as he was getting his haircut off. Luthor was now completely bald, as the barber lifted the cloth off his head and the guards took him away.

Daily Planet

The latest edition of the Planet has been printed. Perry White grabs one to check out. Front page reads "SUPERMAN DEAD:NIGHT OF TERROR, MORNING OF LOSS". Perry opens, page 3 has two featured stories: "Daily Planet Reporter Clark Kent Killed Reporting Gotham Battle" and "Lex Luthor Arrested In Connection With Capitol Bombing".

In the streets of Metropolis, everything was empty. No cars driving down the roads, all shops were closed, and no people were seen.

Kent Farm

A private funeral is held for Clark in Martha Kent's house, attended by Perry and all of Clark's Smallville acquaintances as well. Martha placed a picture of her husband, Johnathan Kent, right on Clark's arms.

In Clark's room, Lois stares silently at the ceiling. Then, the door opens as Martha enters the room with an envelope. Lois sat up straight.

Martha: "Hi. Clark had this sent here, so he can surprise you."

She hands her the envelope, and had her hand on Lois' cheek before leaving the room. Lois opened the envelope, where there was a small bag. She shook the bag, as there was an engagement ring that fell in her hand. She held the ring close to her, as she began to cry.

The time came, as Clark's casket was being taken to his burial spot. Everyone followed behind, as Amazing Grace was being played.

Meanwhile, another funeral was happening but for Superman. Jets flew across the sky, while Superman's casket was taken through the streets. Swanwick and Farris were there, along with many soldiers. The American flag was draped over the casket, until the soldiers lifted it up and each folded the flag. A high ranking officer passed the flag to Swanwick and saluted, before marching away.
