For a moment Taehyung feels anxious as he stands in front of the closed doors of the head alpha's room— apartment?— he has the keys in a fist, the metal pressing against his palm leaving its imprints.
He was finally left alone by his mentor, after she had given him a schedule that was in the paper folded in his pocket, they had exchanged numbers and Mina had cleared out that she really wouldn't be able to text because most of the times her fingers tremble and she isn't able to type the letters over the small screen of a phone.
Typical against the social media lady she is but surprisingly cool to actually hang out with, minus the time she goes all strict on him.
"What are you waiting for?"
Taehyung flinches when a hand is kept on his shoulder and he looks up to his brother, a hand on his chest as he waits until his heartbeat slows its pace down.
"You scared me, hyung."
Namjoon only chuckles ruffling the omega's hair as he leans his weight on the younger. "Sorry about that, you looked lost in a dreamland." He playfully bumps his head with the other.
"Thinking about my mentor would not be considered as lost in a dreamland, would it now?" Taehyung rolls his eyes, clenching the keys in his hand as he looks down at the keyhole of the door.
"Well," Namjoon kisses his teeth, "standing in front of your mate's room," he points at the door with a shrug, "it would be sensible of me to think you would be lost in the dreamland of your future home."
It's silly the way Taehyung feels heat over his cheeks. "I'm just nervous," he gulps, leaning his body back to his brother's, "I feel like I'm intriguing his private space."
"Mates share everything with each other," Namjoon sighs, "nothing is just his or just yours, it collectively belongs to both of you, his private space isn't just for him anymore it's for you too, he is willing letting you in that means he wants to share his everything with you and I think you should accept it." He smiles, caressing Taehyung's arm. "Also, this is your future home, you could get used to staying here and get comfortable first before sharing it with your alpha."
The heat over Taehyung's cheeks only intensifies as he bites down his lips. "Yeah." He sniffles, fiddling with the keys in his hand.
"You're blushing and it's so silly." Namjoon laughs as he swats the younger's head. "I've referred to Sir as your alpha in the purest way possible, get your mind out of the gutter."
"I have the purest interpretation of your words." Taehyung mumbled as he glared up at Namjoon. "It's you who needs to stop thinking that my mind is gutter."
"Overheard you talking to Jimin about getting railed by Sir."
"You heard what now?!"
"Even Sir did, he was laughing for a minute straight and God… I was so embarrassed."
"I don't want to hear anything anymore."
Taehyung is quick to thrust in the key and twist it, opening the door and entering inside, closing the door behind hearing Namjoon laugh loudly.
"I was lying! None of us heard anything like that, dumbo!" Namjoon hollers from the other side of the door and Taehyung curses himself for being so naive.
His hyung just wanted him to enter the room because of course Namjoon knows him too well to predict his actions.
Inhaling a deep breath Taehyung immediately whimpers at the sudden overwhelming scent that penetrates his nostrils, it's heavy and heady he really can't say what exactly it might be the scent of but he somehow could resemble it to the bitter scent of some strong alcoholic drink with a tinge of smell that wafted out of old books.
