No matter how Taehyung tries he can't get rid of the bitterness in his heart, his chest aches as he sits up on the counter and stares at the alpha frying the meat pieces in the pan while the steaming rice is already ready and served in the bowl with the steel bowl of curry kept aside.

Even when Jungkook said he needed help he didn't even let the omega even touch the spoon so far, just told him to sit up and Taehyung was there sitting forgotten just hearing the sounds of utensils clanking paired with Jungkook's humming of a song the blonde has never heard of ever.

Taehyung didn't want this to end, even for a specific period he wasn't going to let this end. He will not let go until he tries one last time yesterday and for that he needs his brother.

He needs to have a talk with Namjoon.

"When is the meeting tomorrow?" He asks and regrets immediately when Jungkook goes rigid, for moments he is left unanswered. "Jungkook? When?" He voices out again wishing the alpha would reply.

"Umm, after your school..." Jungkook replies and turns off the stove holding the handle of the pan giving the pieces of meat one last jump before serving them in a plate, then the pan ends up in the basin with rest of the utensils, "just like this whole month you've been attending the court, tomorrow would be your last day at least for next seven years." He laughs.

But Taehyung didn't, he didn't laugh, he didn't even feel like smiling anymore now that the reality of everything has settled in.

"What does Joon hyung think about this fiasco?" He asks swinging his legs on purpose aiming one hit over the alpha's thigh giggling when Jungkook just glances at him from his shoulder.

"He said and I quote: a bunch of bullshit." Jungkook laughs when he imitates Namjoon's tone, mimicking his actions too. "Honestly, I'm torn between agreeing to this or just shutting everyone up." He clicks his tongue. "I'm thinking of this as the leader, like, let's assume, okay?"

Taehyung nods even when Jungkook isn't looking at him but when he realises that the alpha is waiting for an answer. "Okay." He voices out.

"If it was some other couple with the same situation as ours, I would definitely have second thoughts about their relationship even when they might be happy behind the doors." Jungkook exhales a long breath as he places the food down on the table, motioning Taehyung to join him as he sits on the chair. "Listen, I can shut everyone up, make them seal their mouths, I can make the whole world seal their lips but that would just prove them right even when they have misjudged the situation."

"Do you think I'm blaming you?" Taehyung asks hopping down the counter he ditches the chair and rather prefers to sit himself on the alpha's lap.

Even when the alpha looks surprised he still holds onto the omega's waist and spreads his legs apart making sure the blonde is comfortable.

And once again, Taehyung just melts as he embraces the older nuzzling his nose under Jungkook's nose, leaving a sneaky peck on the skin.

"If so," he says when he doesn't get an answer, "I don't blame you for anything." He whispers, staring ahead at the plain wall inhaling deeply when the ravenette caresses his back with care. "It's not your fault, nor it's mine."

"It's the fault in our stars perhaps." Jungkook laughs over it as if it's a joke but Taehyung could feel that somewhere the alpha was being serious. "They... the stars have chosen the wrong place to twinkle from."

"If the stars didn't align for us to be together, I'd rather have them stop twinkling at all." Taehyung giggles now and Jungkook just breathes out. "I would have rewrote all the alignments of the stars if that meant that I'd wake up every day looking at you."
