Laying on his stomach while swinging his legs back and forth, Taehyung only stares at his mate, elbows firmly digging in the soft mattress of Jungkook's bed as his palm supported the weight of his head.

His mate wasn't on the bed with him, the big hunk of an alpha was spread over the couch, half of his body hanging out of it and Taehyung could only wonder how the Sir was even comfortable sleeping like that.

And one may ask, why wasn't the alpha on the bed with Taehyung?

Because it didn't fit Jungkook's morals to sleep in the same bed with an omega he isn't yet mated with (yet) even when the very omega was his fated mate he refused to fall asleep there.

Yes, of course, when Taehyung insisted Jungkook had held him to sleep but now that Taehyung was awake with the sun which was still out probably it was five-ish in the morning he found his mate laying in a less than comfortable position.

Jungkook might have left the bed to sleep on the couch right after he was sure Taehyung was asleep.

This only makes Taehyung fight harder, make sure his mate doesn't have to spend another seven years waiting for him and to be in doubt because with how Jungkook kept saying that he could choose someone else in the meantime.

Taehyung could only wonder how insecure Jungkook must be about the whole ruckus.

Loneliness, Jungkook was used to this feeling after his parents and brother had left him alone in this world to suffer all alone with responsibilities of the pack heaving down his shoulder.

And as if that wasn't enough, he was mated with someone a decade younger than him.

After all these years of waiting...

Twelve years isn't a small amount of time to spend alone and completely drowning in loneliness with no one to hold on to or even come back to with an assurance of having a warm embrace to soothe and calm down the inner turmoil.

For a fact, a part of Taehyung is rather glad that Jungkook had made him live the life the alpha has suffered through.

The aloneness, the pain, the stress, Taehyung feels like he has lived a chunk of Jungkook's life, it only made him know his mate more than he could have done by having conversations with him.

Another thing to consider was Jungkook's absolute hate towards confessions and having conversations regarding his own feelings. One turn in the way of talk happening that is not what the alpha might want to hear and he'd immediately try to escape the conversation.

Infact, Jungkook would go as far as escaping the relationship built with the person.

Those are the times when he was supposed to be spoken with a source of physical touch to ground him, to make him realise that he wasn't just all alone in this whole wide world.

Slowly but surely, Taehyung plans to make sure Jungkook feels comfortable to talk with him about everything and nothing at once.

Might be tough, but has Kim Taehyung ever given up?

Hell no.

Will he ever give up?

Not even in the wildest dreams of those who talk shit on his name.

They have a whole lifetime to spend together, Taehyung isn't perfect, of course, he is not, but there is where he needed Jungkook to guide him through and correct him.

Being younger than his mate doesn't mean that Taehyung wouldn't do the same for Jungkook. They are in this relationship together and they need to make it work with equality.
