no no it was happening again she felt the tears prick her eyes as her chest constricted, gripping onto her kookie pillow she counted to ten breathing in and out slowly, it was not as bad as the previous ones but they still took a lot out of her calming herself down slowly allowing her breathing to even out. she did not expect what happened at the store to affect her like this she felt completely fine but at some point, everything fell apart and her body went into complete shock.

feeling the vibration of her phone Kirti picked it up only to see that she had received a message.

unknown: hey

                                                                                                         Kirti: umm hi whose this?

unknown: kiraan

Kirti's eyes widened and her cheeks heated up, how the hell did he get my number? to busy, in her thoughts, her phone buzzed again. her anxiety attack long forgotten but her heart still races to remember the promise he made in the club.

unknown: hey you there?

you know what this was a bad idea

kiraan and finally plucked up the courage to message her but now his hands trembled as he sent the last message and quickly placed the phone on his chest to afraid to see her response just like her his thoughts were messed up bringing up the worst case scenario. he felt his phone buzz and quickly picked it up hoping it would be her.

Kirti: hey , yeah sorry i just went

to close my balcony door...

kirti chided herself at the dumb excuse she made up for taking long to reply now he must think she was a weirdo, great now she was even starting to care about what he thought. she managed to calm down completely focusing on him and not the events that took place earlier.

unknown: oh no it's okay

so you cool with us chatting?

he nervously awaited her response hoping she did not swear him, he knew she had a temper on her but she was chatting normally which kind off worried him.

Kirti: it's okay

his heart leaped he knew he had already made the first step and now he was even more determined about this situation.

Kirti decided that it was okay, it was just chatting after all right?

unknown: so you can save this number

wait you already know that it's kinda late and I have a meeting tomorrow

so umm goodnight.

responding with a quick okay and goodnight Kirti saved his number. well, what a way to end a horrible day

her balcony door was still open, the breeze being comforting she decided to leave it open to calm herself. the fresh air reminding her that she was still breathing and that she was grounded, " only happy thoughts Kirti". keeping this mantra in her head she succumbed to her tiredness.
