missing posters.
valerie and kat had both volunteered to hang up sams missing posters. colby had claimed 'he didn't get enough sleep,' even though kat had checked on him throughout the night to make sure. but still, she didn't pry on why he skipped out.
"so, what do you actually do as your job?" valerie asked looking over to kat as she stapled a paper onto a board.
"well, sam and colby film paranormal stuff, hints the bell witch. but, i'm a singer, songwriter." kat claimed.
"oh, that's cool," val said awkwardly, small talk was not her forte. nonetheless, she wanted to get to know kat. "i play a little bit of guitar."
"that's nice! does your dad pay you for working at the station?" kat asked curiously.
"not really, but if i need the money he'll give me some." valerie laughed, "god, i sound like a daddy's money girl."
kat laughed slightly, focusing on the next piece of paper she needed to staple up. after their mission, they'd be able to go into the forest and search for sam. day three, four more days left.
"not really, if anything i look like a daddy's money girl," kat said signaling her appearance. she was dressed in a purple and black clouded hoodie that had XPLR plastered across the front with a pair of leggings.
"eh, i've seen worse. at least your covering up," valerie noted smiling at the girl. katrina returned the smile as the two worked together. valerie seemed like a nice person and kat wanted to befriend the girl.
an hour later, the two had finished with their stack of papers and adams, tennesee was littered with pictures of sam. maybe they'd find the boy soon.
kat and valerie made their way to the hotel room katrina and colby were currently staying in. making small talk along the way, and getting to know each other.
the two made their way into the room to find colby still in bed, dressed in his pajamas. kat walked over and tore the blanket off of the boy.
"go away," he mumbled, flipping over.
"are you going to search for sam or not?" kat asked with annoyance as colby bolted up. flinching once he saw valerie, not expecting the girl.
"sorry, could've warned you but didn't feel like it," val half-joked.
"you're fine." the boy grumbled, valerie wished she hadn't said anything.
colby got up from the hotel bed, mumbling something about twenty minutes, and headed to the bathroom. and exactly as he had said, came out ready twenty minutes later.
"we're not leaving just yet," kat said, holding up a finger. "we need a plan."
she looked expectantly over toward valerie, the girl merely shrugged. almost as if val was there to solve all their problems. she was just a twenty-one-year-old girl who barely even got her i.d.
"any ideas, val?" kat asked, "oh, sorry. can i call you val?"
"yeah, sure. i got nothing though so i can't particularly help you with that." the brunette responded rocking on her heels. nothing. no plan. were they ever going to find sam?
"we can't just stay here all day, right?" colby asked expectantly.
"no, but we need a plan." kat grinned at the boy.
"my plan is to get our asses out in the forest and look for sam," colby said clapping his hands, too loudly. loud enough to make valerie's ears cringe.
"let's go with that," valerie said, making her way to the door.
"i feel like it's not thought out enough.." kat whispered, valerie forced herself to not roll her eyes. if they were going to find sam, they'd better find sam.
"kat, i mean this in the nicest way possible. we don't need the plan to find sam, we just need to search and find as much evidence of him as possible," valerie explained slowly, trying to change her senior's mind. hopefully, it would work.
all they needed to be doing was trying to find evidence of sam, then they could conjure up a plan as to how the three of them would magically save him from the evils of bell witch. the piece of cloth they found the other day was a huge start, but they needed more.
hopefully, kat could see the plan itself forming in valerie's head. it gave them more time to search for sam and more time to fully think out a plan. all they had left to do was try. it wasn't that hard of a plan.
"okay.." kat said uncertainly, "but we still need a plan on how to find sam."
"i'm sure valerie understands that, but we really need to use up every ounce of time at least searching for sam," colby said walking over and placing his hand on kat's back, guiding her towards the door valerie was next to.
"can we please just try and think of a plan when we're in the forest, i want to be prepared. i don't want to lose sam." kat whispered only to colby. the boy nodded slowly understanding kat's motive. after all, it was his lifelong best friend, his brother.
"of course,"
