Mia’s POV

I smiled, stepping back and admiring my work. A large poster hung at the top of the door, five handsome boys grinning back at me as they posed for the camera. Quotes and inspirational sayings were scattered around it, framing and protecting my favorite band. I had been completely and utterly obsessed with One Direction ever since my friend Jessica had shown me the beautiful and perfect boy known as Zayn Malik. Of course I loved them all equally, but the boy with the sparkling chocolate eyes and soft smile had reserved a special place in my heart.

I’m broken, do you hear me

I’m blinded, ‘cause you are everything I see

I’m dancing alone

I’m praying that your heart will just turn around

A grin spread across my face as one of my favorite songs began to play, signaling that Jessica was calling. It was quite a depressing song to put as my ringtone, but I thought it was beautiful. It was also the first song that I had heard from 1D. Skipping across the room filled with boxes and useless things, I pressed the “talk” button on my phone.

“Hey Jess, what’s up?” I heard a scream on the other end and I held the phone away from my ear. The last thing I needed was to become deaf.

“ONE DIRECTION… BREATHING… SAME AIR AS US… COMING TO COLORADO… GET THE TICKETS NOW DON’T JUST STAND THERE!!!!!”

I rolled my eyes, knowing that I would have earned a smack for it had Jessica been in the room with me. Opening a new tab on my computer, I quickly typed in “one direction concert tour tickets” and rummaged through the thousands of options. For a teenager that worked three jobs and was paid to do college work for professors, I had saved up a good amount of money for this day. Eight hundred dollars currently lay in my 1D account, the remaining two hundred saved up for emergency use. I scanned the current page in front of me, gasping at the cost of backstage passes. They were momentarily on sale for only one hundred dollars, and the tickets ranged around four hundred. My eyes flashed up to the small clock on top of the page, ticking off the seconds that remained for the offer. Thirty seven seconds left. I didn’t care if I had to use my emergency money. This WAS an emergency.

I screamed, pounding on my mouse and repeatedly clicking the “purchase” button. Fifteen seconds left on the clock. I jammed the button once more, grabbing what I assumed to be the very last set of tickets and passes victoriously. Jessica would go insane if she found out what I had scored. Chills ran up my spine as I realized I was going to a One Direction concert. To make things even better, the seats were in the third row from the front. I closed my eyes and thanked every holy being I could think of.

********************************************************************

It was the night of the concert, and my room was filled with the overjoyed energy known as my friends. Jessica was fixing her hair in the mirror, making sure that every strand was in place before she took her chance with the Nialler. Liam and Brenda were dancing like drunken teenagers to “Tell Me a Lie”, which was blasting throughout the entire house. My mom had given up on keeping us quiet, eventually leaving when only four hours remained and our screams could not be contained any longer. Stephanie was sitting in front of my vanity desk with her headphones in, blocking all signs of 1D from her mind. She was not a fan, but was tagging along because we needed a ride to Denver and back. I glanced at the screen of my phone. Three hours left.

I could not believe that tonight, I would meet the boys. I would see Zayn in person, see those beautiful eyes, the perfect hair, and the flawless smile that could make anyone melt right on the spot. I glanced over at Jessica, who was scrolling through pictures of Niall. Blonde perfection, with dazzling blue orbs and a gorgeous complexion, he wasn’t a bad choice at all. None of them were. Brenda was in love with Niall as well, and so was Liam. But Brenda held a preference to Harry while Liam was in love with the Louster and his own name twin, Liam. That left me with Zayn. I was happy beyond belief. Two more hours. I squealed, unable to hold in the excitement that was spreading through my body.
