Annie screamed, looking desperate at her boyfriend. Charlie looked confused at first, not understanding the freaked out stares he was getting from the entire crowd of students.
"No!" - She cried out, tears already forming in her eyes. She hugged her boyfriend, inconsolable.
That is until a loud growl startled them and broke them off. It came from someone in the packed crowd.
"I don't understand... How? What? Why?" - Charlie mumbled incoherently. Tears also forming in his eyes.
Alpha and Luna are watching the scene play out baffled. A little confused. But seriously shocked.
Though not nearly as shocked as Charlie. He looked absolutely wrecked.
"No, please... No..." - He cried out to Annie, who wept inconsolably.
Finally, the reason for all this commotion approached them calmly. Shining her eyes like never before, surprising literally everyone in the room.
"MATE!" - Mia spoke with a deep, husky tone. She looked mesmerized by the events unfolding.
Everyone was baffled at the revelation. Usually, 17 years old teens don't get to meet their mates on their birthdays. But she is already 18, so...
"MATE!" - Charlie is compelled to reply, eyes shining so bright like never seen before. His tears are flowing at the discovery, not wanting to forsake his loved one.
They try to take each other's scents, but the room is too crowded and they are still far apart.
She steps closer to him, but Annie doesn't budge from her boyfriend's side. She's clinging next to him for dear life.
"Please Goddess, don't do this to me! Don't take away my Charlie!" - She cried, devastated.
We're all watching this scene play out unable to look away.
Mia takes another step closer. Charlie is immobile, gobsmacked with his eyes still shining.
Annie moves to kiss Charlie but is startled by Mia's growl. She's starting to show teeth at the girl. If she doesn't back away from her mate, this situation is gonna get bad real fast.
As Charlie and Annie keep on crying next to each other, Mia takes another step closer to him. She needs to be near her mate, take a good inhale of his scent. It's impossible to avoid it.
"I'm sorry, Annie! I wish there's something I could do. I really do!" - He apologized to his girlfriend, feeling remorseful. She just kept on sobbing.
Every time she moved to get closer to him, Mia growled at her. And took a step closer.
Charlie looked absolutely gutted, devastated. He didn't want to part from Annie, but also he had to get closer to his mate. His wolf demanded it.
He tried to separate himself from Annie, but she just kept on clinging to him, desperately. All the while, Mia is coming closer.
