We were still in Mahle's room. It was dead silent. I didn't even know what she was thinking because I couldn't read her face.

Her: so you mean to tell me that Sandiso and I are cousins?

I couldn't read her emotions. My daughter was more or less like my mom -Sibahle Ndalo- at times, you just couldn't tell what they were thinking at times which scared me a lot. I nodded. and she just looked down for some time, she wasn't crying-no- she was just processing what she had just heard.

Me: I didn't know until yesterday later on

Her: My ex-boyfriend who happens to be my virgin breaker is my cousin?

I barely think that was a question but I nodded anyway.

Her: how Ma? I thought you were the only daughter George had

Me: Emily was switched at birth with a stillborn baby and George and his wife only found her later on. They met at this other conference Emily attended in Durban, George was there looking for her and they managed to convince her she was the daughter. They did tests and everything was confirmed

Her: And Sandiso? does he know?

Me: yes, he overheard us talking and now he is nowhere to be found. His whole family has been trying to call him but to no luck at all

Her: I don't blame him. He needs time to process all this

Me: what about you?

Her: he and I have been over for like a month and some days or weeks. Yesterday we spoke but he didn't mention anything to me

Me: I'm guessing he was waiting for me to tell you. Baby you and Sbu know him more that anyone. Can you please at least make sure he is ok?

Her: I'll try Ma

Me: Please baby. His family is worried sick

Her: I will Ma. Just not now

Me: ok thanks. I'll let you get back to your nap

Her: thanks Mah

I walked out worried sick about my baby. I hated being useless and not knowing what to do or say to make her feel any better.

After mom walked out I was beyond speechless. I needed Damon here now but he was in Bloem so only option I had was to call him. I was hurt really and worried about Sandiso who was not answering his phone when I tried calling him. I dialled Dae and he answered after some time.

//Him: hey

Me: Damon

My voice was now shaky. Hearing his voice made me miss him and wish he was a taxi away from me or a cab away.

Him: hey hey. What's wrong?

Me: everything

Him: talk to me

Me: I don't know where to start

Him: I have all day. start from the beginning

I told him everything. From Nosihle all the way to Sandiso and I being cousins. For some f*cked up reason I don't know how to keep things hidden from Damon. There's something about him that makes me tell him everything and he just listens to me and gives me advice if need be or just be there for me. He's amazing. He's nothing like I thought

Him: how are you holding up?

Me: I don't know. I just miss you and want to be with you right now

Him: I miss you too but you have to help find Sandiso or at least make sure he's safe
