Meredith hit the send button on her phone as she saw that Jackson had already seen her message.
"We're moving to Boston" -Meredith
Looking through her contacts once again as her eyes wandered on Nick's contact number,her mind debating whether she calls him now maybe later after dinner with Zola or just tell it to him herself in person, to his face so that they could talk about it.
They had just gotten back together a few months ago and now she's leaving him? What would Nick say? He moved to Seattle for her and now she's moving to Boston? Would this be the end of their relationship? or they'd have a long cruel distance relationship again?
Her kids is her priority and she'd do anything for them,but that doesn't make Nick her not-priority. Of course he is,he always has been but her kids always comes first and Nick well... second? That doesn't make him her less priority...but for now...her kids has to come first. And if that means she'd have to break up with him or have another long distance relationship with Nick... she'd surely do it.
"Mom?" Zola called her mom whom seemed like lost in her thoughts since they stepped outside the restaurant and now they're sitting on a plane on their way back to Seattle. Noticing her mom seemed to be bothered by something worried her, especially now that they're moving to Boston for her and for her mom's possible Cure for Alzheimers Research.
"Hmmm?" was the only answer Meredith gave her as it seems like she was still deep in her thoughts.
"You haven't call uncle Nick..." Zola's words left hanging and felt like there's something comes after that so Meredith raised her brows to tell her to continue "you haven't told him, have you?" she continues hesitantly
"He's going to pick us up at the airport when we land.." she answered first while she's already thinking about the answer she could give her daughter "and no,I haven't told him" she added.
"It's okay,mom" her words confused her mother when she received a frown from her "we don't have to move because of me,we can just stay in Seattle and continue therapy, I'll be fine..." looking down at her lap, fidgeting with her fingers which had became her habit ever since her episode has started "eventually.." her words trailed off sending an ache into her mother's chest .
"Zola... we've talked about it, haven't we?" she asked her daughter as she took her hands into hers to stop her from fidgeting it "I'd do anything for you and your siblings..and if moving to another country is what I think that's best for you, I'd do it.."
"Even if you'd have to break up with uncle Nick or have a long distance relationship with him again?" Zola wanted to know, worried expression was written on their faces as Meredith just froze with her question.
She really loves him and she can't imagine having another
long cruel distance relationship with him nor she could imagine breaking up with him,ever.
"I know you love him mom,and that's okay,he makes you very happy and he makes us happy too..." Zola tried to offer as she noticed how her mom was caught off guard with her question "and if you'd have to break up with him so that we can move to Boston...we don't have to,we can just stay here where our family is"
"Zola..." was the first word that came out of her mouth before she took a deep breath "I love Nick yes but you,my kids are my priority...so yes, if I'd have to break up with him so that we can freely move to Boston... I would" her own words send aches in her chest, tightening it.
"So,I can't tell him about Boston?" Zola wanted to know.
"You can tell him everything you want Zozo, I'll talk to him later tonight" she smiled, trying to reassure her daughter. before she pulled her in her embrace.
