Is something wrong?

The text looked harmless, she jokes around like this all the time. But there is something about Acacia, even in the most menacing situation, for instance, if someone has a gun over her head, she will be giving him directions on what to say and do that would make it cool.

I wanted to ignore it given my circumstances, I know I shouldn't make the investors wait any longer but I couldn't let this go either. I called her several times but none went through. Then decided to give a call to Elena, hoping that maybe she was with her but unfortunately Elena was attending a fundraiser.

"Jeffrey, get me through Henry Martin, "I ask the assistant. I know I was acting way more paranoid than the situation is offering but she should know better.

That anything related to her isn't a joke.

"Sir, Mr. Martin is supposed to sign a deal with Anthony Morgan, the meeting starts in five minutes"

"I suppose that will have to wait."

"Give a call to Anthony Morgan and ask him to delay the meeting or else he can kiss the contract goodbye" that must have gotten his attention because don't even a minute later I get a call from her dad.

"Are you out of your mind? Is this some joke?" Even though Henry is pissed, he maintains his tone while talking to me. I guess being dad's best friend has its perks.

"It's about Arabella." That got him because now I had his silent attention.

"She texted me, I think she might be in some trouble"

"You could have just called her."

"You think I haven't tried that? I just didn't wanna ignore." I almost snapped at him.

"I will look into it. And never try something like this ever again." He hissed.

"Yes sir."

"Goodbye, I have a daughter to find." He hung up.

I sign in relief and make my way to the conference room because if there is something about the Martin men, they know well how to protect what is there's.
