"You have such lovely hair!" Marta, the stylist gushes with a ridiculous fake French accent. Nonetheless, her enthusiasm is infectious. She kept my wavy waist-length hair, sleek and straight. My makeup wasn't anything dramatic however it wasn't bromidic either. Eyeliner, mascara, blush, highlighter, and Mac red lipstick.
The woman staring at me looked like she belonged to this alternate universe. Champagne colored, spaghetti straps, sweep train split-front sparkly bohemian gown is absolutely stunning. If not the color, the dress could easily qualify as a wedding dress. It fits the top area just before the slit and flatters the rest of the dress.
Sophie and the kids are getting ready elsewhere leaving me alone in our house. Don't get me wrong, I am delighted to have Marta's company however I wish Elena was here. She said she would meet me at the venue. I lean down to collect my clutch and get ready to leave for the venue.
Before leaving I stroll towards the stylist. "Thank you, Marta."
She grasps me into an overwhelming hug.
"Never let anyone else style you."
I laugh, slightly embarrassed by her enthusiasm.
"You look incredible." My best friend's voice echoes through the walls of my extravagant closet.
Why am I not surprised? Of course, she couldn't wait to see me all dressed up. It's a "once-in-a-lifetime possibility, according to her."
"And the slit, girl." She exclaims, more like screams, in surprise.
"You're one to talk." Her dress was similar to mine, with the exception of the color and the bottom skirt. Her hips glistened in the mermaid train.
"I come bearing a gift." She ignored my compliment and reached out her hand. A navy blue box with the name Swarovski engraved on the lid rests in her palms.
I reach for and open the box. Inside, a diamond-encircled bracelet sparkles.
"It's lovely," I whispered softly.
"Thanks for the bracelet, El." I kiss her hair and she chuckles in response making me curious.
"They are not for your wrist."Confusion fills my brows as I raise them.
She falls to her knees without saying anything, partially due to her mermaid gown. She taps my exposed leg and slides the "bracelet" around my thigh. Grater.
"You have fine legs, Miss Martin." She smirks looking above my knees and I grin at her, shyly.
"Yeah, this is what's missing. Now I can go to my wedding." I pull her from her knees.
"This is hot."
"You are hot," she adds to her trail of gushes.
"Now shut up and let's find some guys to get laid."
