Another Scan

"I'm sorry baby but I couldn't get a day off to go to your scan."
"That's okay daddy"
He goes to work and I take a bus to the centre.
"Oh Cassidy you're here already"
The doctor smiles at me as she calls me.
I stand up and smile.
"Okay come and take a seat and I'll be with you in a minute"
She types on her computer for a couple of minutes and then she turns to me
"Is she yours?"
She smiles as Cara dribbles onto my shirt.
"No she's my sister"
"Aw well she has your looks"
She smiles.
"Thanks"
I sit her down on the baby chair and let her do some colouring as I get situated on the bed.
Dr.Smith asks me to pull down my pants a little so I do that.
She rubs the gel onto my stomach and then she pushes the Doppler onto my stomach.
She looks at the scan and smiles
"Everything is fine"
I nod with tears coming out of my eyes.
Dr.Smith carries cara over and Cara points at the scan
"Baby"
She grins.
"Yes sweetie and there's another..."
"Baby A and B.... And C"
"What!?"
"Turns out we missed a baby girl. See over there in the corner"
I put my head down in exhaustion.
"Oh my god"
"Here's the scan"
"Thanks"
I smile as I pull back on my pants.
Cara starts to cry so I soothe her.
I get home and Parker is there.
"It's triplets."
I say as I get in the door and take off my scarf.
"What?"
"There's another baby girl in the corner and they missed her the first time"
"Oh my god"
He spins me as I start crying.
"Hey hey what's wrong?"
"I don't think I can handle triplets"
"I know you can... and I've organised for paternity leave for the first month of their lives"
"Thank you daddy"
He hugs me and kisses me.
He feels the babies kick as Cara crawls in front of us.
I pick her up and kiss her.
I put her to bed around 6 and then Parker and I go back to the restaurant.
Bruno is there again.
"Ah hah, my two favourite customers"
He hugs us as we both smile
I order of the pregnancy menu again.
I smile as he puts his hand over mine.
He stands up on his chair.
"What are you going? Get down!"
I giggle
He hits his glass with a spoon.
"Excuse my everyone but I just need to say this out loud. Cass you're the love of my life and I wanna marry you, what do you say?"
"Yes"
I smile as I kiss him.
"It's official! We're getting married!"
He smiles as he whispers
"I'm 16 tomorrow"
"Yep so if we get one adult to consent from your family"
"My uncle John"
He nods
"Message him and we'll get married on private. It can just be you and I and a couple of family members"
I nod.
I message him and he says that's fine.
He doesn't care who I'm with or what I'm doing.
We leave the restaurant and smile as we go on the swings holding hands like children.
"I love you Parker Jones"
"I love you more than anything Cass Jones"
He grins as he puts the ring on my finger.
We kiss and snow starts to fall.
"It's like a fairytale"
"It is."
"it's our adventure"
I smile as we walk home.
