'Damn. That must have been devastating. I'm sorry you had to go through that... ' Vox said while frowning. 'I know too well how it feels, to lose someone important. Although it wasn't someone as close as you and Ether' he continued. Shoto paused for a second. 'You too?' 'Yes, but it's also a long story. Maybe I'll tell you about it another time... ugh... I don't think I can talk that much right now.' Shoto picked up his pace while saying. 'It's fine. We'll get you home first and take care of those bruises. And I'm also sorry for your loss...' Vox chuckled slightly followed by a silent groan of pain.
After about half an hour, they made it to the castle. Shoto stood still for a moment admiring the large structure. 'Impressive right? Although it's run-down, it still kept its grandeur.' He heard Vox say under his breath. 'Yes. I didn't even realize, I stopped walking.' The other replied. The castle must have been abandoned for some reason. Probably because of war, but who knows.
'Vox!?' Someone shouted from the side. Shoto quickly turned towards the voice in surprise. He saw a tall man in heels running towards them. His face filled with concern for the demon.

'What happened to you? Why do you look like you groveled in dirt? Wait, is that blood?' 'Calm down Ike. I'm alright. It's not my blood. I came across some ruffians that were planning to invade our castle. So, I just took care of them. I only got some bruises here and there.' The demon responded. 'Phew' Ike visibly calmed down and finally noticed the man supporting Vox. 'Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to ignore you. Thank you for helping my friend. My name is Ike Eveland. You can just call me Ike. My role here is that of a steward. I take care of the castles' management and financial and legal matters. May I know your name?' The purplette smiled softly while answering 'It's ok. You were only concerned about your friend. You can just call me Shoto and I'm traveling to find companions that want to join my guild.'
'Oh? You are a guild master?' Ike asked. 'No. Well, not yet. But I want to start one.' Shoto answered. Ike looked at Vox who then nodded in return. Shoto tilted his head, being visibly confused until Ike broke the brief silence. 'We might have the perfect building for that purpose. Maybe you might consider starting your guild on our grounds?' Shoto was delighted. 'Really?! Would that not be a bother?' Ike chuckled slightly 'We do need some help in governing this castle and we need more personal to ensure our peoples' peace and order. So, your guild would be quite the opposite of a bother. So, how about it? Should we discuss it further later?' Shoto now had a bright smile on his face. 'Yes. Absolutely!'
'Ehm. Are you two done talking? I hope, you didn't forget about me?' Vox groaned while holding his side. Realizing that they both just had a little chit chat while an injured person was standing right beside them, they apologized in unison. When Ike motioned Shoto to follow him with Vox in tow, Shoto stopped him. 'Wait. Can you take over, Ike?' 'Sure, but is something wrong?' Ike questioned while switching places with Shoto. As soon as he asked that question, Shotos' stomach started growling. His face became as red as a tomato while he put his hand on his stomach. 'Actually. I didn't eat much the past two days. So, I'm starting to feel a little dizzy. I'm afraid I might trip or something.'
'My goodness, are you alright?' Ike asked concerned. 'Now that you mentioned it. I thought it was a little strange that you were breathing heavier than people normally do. I brushed it off because I thought I was just a little too heavy.' Vox said with a frowning face. 'You should have said something.' Shoto shrugged, 'You don't need to worry. I can deal with a little bit of hunger, you know? But I could really appreciate something to eat soon. I feel lightheaded.' Shoto said.
'Alright. Then let's get going. We'll bring Vox to his room and then I'll get you something nourishing, but not too heavy to eat, since your stomach won't be able to handle much.' Ike said. Shoto nodded, 'Thank you. You are very attentive.' 'Just like a mother, right?' Vox chuckled. 'Why you...' Ike pouted and Shoto chuckled. Then they went on.

782 Words I think, my chapters are getting longer :) I'm trying to not stretch the story too much, but I'm kind of struggling with that. I don't want my story to seem too rushed or something. Well anyways, thanks for reading, as always <3
