Celest sits on the wooden chair outside on her veranda, eating the cookie and cream ice-cream she bought minutes ago. With her phone resting on her thigh, she types a response to her boyfriend.

Yes! Where?- She sends the message. Celest is excited that Kevaun is asking to bring her out tonight. In less than a minute, Kevaun replies to the question. Celest smiles when she reads the text.

You'll see- She loves his surprises. Hoping it's somewhere, where they'd be alone, she sends a text. Celest closes her phone then she walks inside but as soon as she's about to close the door, loud noise pulls her attention.

Turning her head back outside, her eyes spot the two women who are beating each other. Celest decides to watch, seeing that this is the first time something like this is happening in her community. "Aye big ole gyal me ago want yuh stay far from mi man yer and nuh mek me affi murder yuh,"- a medium height dark skin thick woman shouts. She has a shovel in her hand, her hair is all over the place and she has a tear on her blouse.

Getting entertained, Celest leans on the wall, watching everything that's taking place in front of her yard, in the middle of the road. "Your man? A nuh dat it seems like cause a your man did a flick him tongue pon mi clit last night mi love, while yuh did a wait pon him bitch suh come again,"-

Celest laughs then eats some of her ice-cream. The other female looks much younger than the other. She's short with light skin. Unlike the other woman, she doesn't have a weapon.

People from all directions, starts to watch the altercation.

The other lady runs up to the girl with the shovel but is being stopped by a man. "Leggo off a mi mek mi kill dah gyal deh," She fights.

Her phone continues to ring but she doesn't pay it no mind. After a while of listening to the cursing, she goes inside to take a shower and make something to eat. After her shower, she cooks up some corn beef and white rice for her self and her mother.

Celest then goes to her room with the food and a cup of water in her hand. "Bloodclaatt!" Celest curses when she realizes the 3 missed calls from her boyfriend. She immediately calls back but gets no answer. She sighs, knowing how upset he is gonna be and that he probably comes to her home.

She stares at the TV as she watches an episode of 'Lucifer'. She finishes her food and brings her plate and cup back to the kitchen. Her head turns to the front door when she hears a knock. Celest is almost sure that it is Kevaun but is surprised when she hears the person's voice.

"Open the door Celest,"-

Her ex- boyfriend, Leo. Fear takes over Celest's body. As Leo continues to beat on her front door, she calls her boyfriend, hoping he'd pick up. "B y-yuh can come ova mi house please, fast," She says, her voice cracking a little.

"A wah gwaan? Yuh alright?" He questions. "J-just hurry up and come nuh Kevaun," Celest says getting angry. He tells her that he's on his way. Taking a knife from the dish holder, she walks to the door.

Scared that Leo will do something to hurt her, once again, she's afraid to see his face. Celest takes a few breaths then she opens the door. Coming face to face with the tall man, she swallows.

"Wah yuh want?" She asks with a calm tone. The man smiles, showing his yellow teeth. Celest looks at him in disgust, regretting that she ever gave him a chance to be with her.

"Suh mi cyaa come look fi mi ooman again," His words causes her to laugh but not in a playful way. "Can you leave?" Celest asks. Leo steps closer to her and she backs away. Her grip tightens on the knife.

"I just came to talk to you baby," He says. "Step back please, yuh breath a kick," Her words seem to make the man angry but she doesn't care. She know she could easily kill him if he tries anything.

Leo grabs Celest by her shorts. "Let me go!"

"Stop the fucking noise bitch," He firmly says. Leo pushes Celest inside and proceeds to kiss her. Hating the way how he is touching her, she stabs him in his side, causing the taller man to whine in pain.

Celest drops the bloody knife and watches as Leo backs away. Kevaun then pulls up, but it was too late. She had already acted. Celest wouldn't know what to do if Leo dies. She is stuck in place, watching the injured man cry in pain. Tears drops from her eyes.

What did I do?

"Cel-" Kevaun pauses, when he see's Leo on the ground. He runs to his girlfriend, as if he doesn't see the injured man. Celest hugs him, crying. Kevaun calls his friends, Mystro, Letti and Dan-dan to come to the house.

Unlike Celest, he knows how to handle situations like these. Holding her close to his body, he comforts her. Kevaun closes the front door. Celest continues to cry, wishing she could change what she did but she knows she can't. What is done, is done.

...and she is gonna pay for it.
