⚠️ Warning ⚠️

The following chapter contains a discussion of losing a loved one and references to someone's psychiatric condition. Read with caution if it bothers you.

Every person experiences something for the first time, and without warning, instances can spring up. Right now, that is what that moment replicates: the charismatic Bella Soul has no issue letting her pent-up emotions flow out of her like a river. Bakugo has never seen her in this state; however, whatever has happened these last few months proves nothing has been easy.

Bakugo waits for the brunette woman to explain as her sobs calm down into sniffles. She takes a deep, shaky breath. "The thing is," Bella begins, "it's—"

Before the brunette woman explains, they hear a knock, and given the time of night, it startles all three of them. Andres excuses himself from the table to open the door, and once he does, he sees familiar ashy blonde hair and red eyes.

"Indigo?" Andres asked.

"Wait," Bella says, index finger raised, "hold the thought for a second."

Bella gets up from the chair and rushes to her boyfriend's location to greet Indigo, wearing a blue v-neck shirt and light blue jeans, and Austin, wearing what looks like orange pajamas with dinosaurs. Bella opens the door more, showing her disheveled look and Austin's tear-stained cheeks, looking tired and like he saw some things, too. The look in Indigo's eyes shows it's been a rough night, full of mental exhaustion and fear, and with the sad little kid beside her, her son, having the same look in his eyes, something terrible must have happened.

"He's back," Indigo announces while walking through the door, her kid clutching her hand tightly.

"Are you serious?" Bella asked.

"I don't know why," Indigo explains, "but he showed up at my mom's house when I was with Austin. He knew I would be there, making all these claims, saying, 'he's my kid, too,' and, 'You can't hide him forever from me.' Like, is he stupid?"

"He sounds like it," Bakugo states, getting up from the kitchen table. He walks to them and asks, "What does he mean by hiding his kid?"

"Restraining order," Indigo and Bella said.

"He was never in the picture anyway," Andres explains, "but let's just say his viewpoints on a woman are decades upon decades old."

Bakugo doesn't want to ask what occurred because it isn't his business, and based on how the two of them look, prying would provoke chaos. He wants to return to the prominent subject he discussed with Bella, besides the family matters unfolding before him.

The ash-blond male snatches the document he gave Bella not too long ago off the kitchen table to show Indigo, knowing she'll have insight about it, too. "You know what's going on with Lynnette, right?" Bakugo questioned Indigo.

Indigo grabs the piece of document from his hands and examines it. She glances at him with a gloomy gaze and nods. "It's been going on for a while," Indigo mentions, "but the rest of the charges explain her absence from the music scene."

Indigo looks down at her son, ready to fall asleep standing up. She picks him up and says, "I'd love to explain it more, but I need to find somewhere for my kid to sleep. I love Lynnette, but my kid is my priority, and I don't want to lose him."
