Mid-August brings overwhelming heat in Japan as citizens walk the busy streets in sandals, flip flops, shorts, short-sleeved shirts, tank tops, and crop tops from passersby. Near-record highs, everyone enjoys the weather despite the scorching heat as they litter the streets during the afternoon. However, one ash-blond male hates the heat the moment he walks out of the cooled vet office with a cat carrier in one hand for his little feline friend, Blasty, who recently got done with her recent checkup. He wears a white v-neck shirt, a pair of tan cargo shorts, and tan slip-on shoes, perfect for hot summer weather.

"Glad the doctor said your health is good," Bakugo comments, walking to his car, "because changing your diet would piss you off, and I would know because you hate change as much as I do."

He opens the passenger door to set the cat carrier with Blasty inside and closes it before heading to the driver's side door to let himself in. He lets Blasty out and allows her to sit on the car seat as a reward for good behavior because the last time they went to the vet, Blasty bit the vet technician's hand a bit hard. However, it makes sense because they last went to the vet a few days after Bakugo and Kirishima broke up.

The last few months since he and the redhead broke up were dreadful, but this time, he found healthier outlets to let out his anguish by appearing as a studio or as a last-minute tour fill-in for bands. He worked with a few different acts in the studio, but one he's very proud of was when he had to fill in for a drummer in a significantly high-profile band in a headlining slot in a major rock festival in the UK. Though he still doesn't know the whole story of what happened to the band's drummer, playing for one hundred thousand fans was an experience he would never forget.

His bandmates in Deep Dope are still in touch with him; he's on hiatus until further notice until all the drama surrounding his personal life clears. However, the charges against Mineta went to him accepting a plea deal, and he will serve a few years of probation for his crimes. None of them feel it's enough, but it's better than having him do no time and, in his words, "not put the victims through anything," he said in an interview with the press.

While replaying the things that reoccurred the last few months in his head, he doesn't realize the heavy traffic making his way home. He groans and taps his fingers on the steering wheel out of agitation. He decides to turn up the radio, channel surfing and finds nothing good until he gets to the rock station, where a very familiar radio DJ begins to speak.

"What is up, everyone?! Yamada Hizashi here serving you some awesome tunes in today's blistering heat!"

"This guy can be annoying sometimes," Bakugo mumbled to himself.

"We got some new songs on the way," Hizashi announces, "but not yet because we're playing the now-disbanded Sirens' hit song, "Heaven's A Lie," right now!"

"You have got to be fucking kidding me," Bakugo groans as he tries to change the radio station, but Blasty stops him by swatting his hand. "Alright, you win, you damn brat," Bakugo grumbled.

The familiar intro he knew since that festival and the familiar feeling of hurtfulness when he saw Kirishima performing this song for the first time plays in his mind as the song progresses. As Bakugo remembers, Kirishima wore a black leather jacket, a white v-neck t-shirt underneath, dark-washed denim jeans with a few holes, and a pair of black lace-up boots. His hair pulled back in a half-bun with no denying he looked as handsome as ever. His smile took Bakugo's breath away instantly like it always did. All surrounding extras faded from his vision, and his eyes stared down at one specific person with nothing but hurt and disbelief.

'Oh, no, here it is again.

I need to know when I'll fall into decay.
