As soon as I stepped out my moms car, the front door to this strange boys house opened. He seemed to have an urge to greet my mom, waving to her as I made my way up the small driveway. Luckily, they had a garage, meaning that my mom had no real clue if there was actually a vehicle inside of it or not. So, with the idea that I was being left in a house with adults, she smiled widely.
"Take care of her Miguel!" She shouts from her passenger window, before giving a final wave and making her way out the neighborhood. I mentally face palmed whilst taking off my shoes, wanting to leave right then and there. Somehow, the boy holding the door open for me pointed out something even worse.
"How does your mom know my name?" He mutters while shutting the door after I step inside. I shake my head, a smile appearing on my lips.
"You don't wanna know" I admit to him. After that, he led me into the living room where everyone seemed to be in a deep conversation. They greeted me instantly, asking what took so long for me to arrive.
"It may or may not have been constant outfit changes" I mumbled, as Brady immediately let his mouth drop open. He gestures his hands towards Tristan, making me immediately scan his outfit.
"Tristan wanted to come in a onesie" He says, making me laugh while I looked for a seat. The only open one was on a small sofa, right next to Miguel. I wasn't in the mood to internally complain, currently too wrapped up in the good vibes.
"But he didn't so" I say with a smile, taking up for Tristan immediately.
"Yeh yeh, but I doubt Miguel would have let him in the house like that" He says, picking up the remote off the coffee table. It made me realize just how spotless the house was, since not even a cup stain rested on the table. Every dvd case near the TV was stacked up neatly, with winter themed decorations on each side of the TV stand.
It made sense, because the season would be greeting our country any day now. Caving into my urges, I sneakily glanced around to see the counters in the kitchen were also empty, looking to be wiped down neatly.
"Were you the one who cleaned the house?" I asked the boy beside me, feeling a little bit overly curious. To be fair, I had never seen any boy take care of a house so well.
"Yeh?" He answered, carrying the same questionable tone I spoke in. I could feel the corners of my mouth tug upwards, as I tried to suppress it the best as I could.
"You did really good" I nod, looking away from him quickly after. We seemed to have both turned our heads at the same time, something I happened to notice out the corner of my eye. So now, we were just sat side by side as Brady typed in 'The Walking Dead'.
