"We can't let it get out to Miguel though" I hear Brady whisper to the boy beside me, causing me to roll my eyes. Tristan turns to look at me, asking if it was true.
"No, what do you believe it?" I ask him
"Of course not, you guys don't even get along, that theories just stupid" He confirms, making Brady sigh really loud. The dirty blonde had already told everyone about it, besides Miguel who was in the bathroom.
"Actually, maybe they argue so much because of how much they like each other" Maddy suggests, making everyone create an "ooo" sound.
"Okay, I seriously think amoebas were in that beach water, and they ate your brains" I joke, almost halfway meaning it.
"I don't know, it kinda seems reasonable. You guys argue so much yet you always end up hanging out together" Mason explains, stopping when a certain person entered the room. We then all acted like we were having a normal conversation.
Maddy began spinning her wheel again while we all waited in anticipation. They had already chosen me to go one more time, since I won a Rock Paper Scissors competition with Brady. I was pretty sure that wasn't how to game worked, but it was fun nevertheless.
"Its Miguel and Maria.." She says, causing everyone to have a little smirk on their face. I however, was a little nervous. Maybe more than a little.
So, as soon as we made it in the closet and the door shut, the teasing started. I had sat down beside the boy, feeling scared to be so close. I was positive I sat this close to Brady earlier, but something about it being Miguel made it different.
"Maria Carrillo.." He mutters my first and last name, making me question how he even knew it. I was sure he had heard of it before, but I didn't expect him to remember it.
Miguel seemed to just sit and think to himself, leaving me with my thoughts as well. The darkness of the small space was being infiltrated by a thin line of light that went right onto my face. He could see me, yet I couldn't see him. How unfair.
"I can't believe you have a thing for me.." He whispers towards me, making my insides twist and turn. Miguel had either overheard, or someone told him. I try not to look so panicked, but I couldn't help it. My face had turned red hot instantly with his words.
"It's true then?" The boy laughs to himself quietly at my sudden silence.
"No" I say quickly, ready for this torture to end already.
