I had looked away as quickly as possible, my face heating up from his furious glare. My phone chimes, making me jolt a little out of my seat.

I set down my phone, feeling a nudge from the other person beside me. Maddy was tossing her long brown hair over her shoulder, smiling wide.

"One minute left" She tells me, softly kicking her legs while in her chair. I smile back, nodding to Maddy before sliding my phone into my pocket.

Time passed before I knew it, and a group of men and women began to welcome us into a more classy room. It held a long table, chairs surrounding it completely. The room wasn't cramped however, it still held a good bit of space. A big whiteboard went across one of the walls, filled with little scribbles of ideas and what not. There was tiny table in a corner, on top rested different files with cursive writing labeling them.

I sit in the chair that displayed my name on the back, scooting myself closer to the table. Everyone was helping each other out, telling each other who's chair they saw and where. Mason was seated to my right, then Brady to my left. My nails tapped against the table softly, waiting for everyone to get seated. I was excited to hear my lines, knowing the character I auditioned for.

People scattered around the opposite side of the table now, pulling out chairs with wide smiles. Not Miguel however, as he realized his seat was placed directly in front of mine. He sat down with a blank expression, meeting my eyes for a moment. I smiled at him, hoping that could clear things up between us. Just something friendly enough to break the ice [maybe more like water the flames].

To my surprise he smiled back, below his eyes creasing gently. My heart did a quick spin, feeling happy that things wouldn't be so cold between us. That was, before I realized the type of smile it was. It was far from genuine, or kind, instead it was none other than a bitchy smile.

There's no better word to describe it than bitchy, and flat out rude. I remembered it very well from my public school days. The queen bee would say something completely out of line to you, before flashing a smile like that made it all okay. It would make anyone go red, as if smoke would come whistling out their ears the way it does in cartoons.

I let my smile fall, deciding I would look at the table now. Miguel must have been hard to please, but trying again later couldn't hurt.

"Alright you guys, so today we're going to be passing out your lines. I'm sure you already remember some of them from your audition, but this is a more in-depth packet we're going to hand you. So, we tried to seat you closest to the people you will mainly be acting with, hoping you can get along so your acting won't be too awkward once we start filming," A man explains to us while passing out pamphlets. Two land in front of me, and I see one has Miguel's name across it. I slide it across to him, and he stops it easily with his hand.

"Of course, you should go through all of it, but the main focus right now is just getting those first pages of lines down pat. When it comes time to film we'll help you more with anything your confused about or need to work on" The man stops loudly announcing so that he can help someone who had their hand raised. I take the time to curiously open my pamphlet.

Scarlett Blake

A shy bullied girl, just like her twin brother Finney (Mason Thames). She developed a lisp from her father when she was younger.

I smile, remembering how I previously knew I would be able to accurately portray that lisp problem, since I do still have run ins with that old issue. Speech therapy helped me a ton, but it still decides to make its way out in certain situations.

Scarlett doesn't fit in perfectly with her younger sister Gwen (Madeleine McGraw) due to the age gap, but still loves her as much as she does Finney. At school everybody loves to tease and hurt Scarlett because of her lisp. But, she's dating the scary kid Robin (Miguel Mora), who won't let anything bad happen to her.

My smile had dropped immediately at the name Miguel. I knew my character was dating someone, but god why did it have to be him. I find myself leaning back in my seat, crossing my arms over my torso in a comforting manner. My eyes couldn't help but gaze around the room, landing on Mason's paper.

Once he got to a part about Robin and my character dating, he looked over at me with a little worry. I gave him the same expression before turning to Brady who was on my left. The name of his character distracted me thankfully, making me give him a gentle nudge.

"You auditioned for Vance? That's so fucking cool" I whisper to him and he looks at me with a smile. His hand pats the table, forming a rhythm.

"Yeh but I have no clue how I'm gonna be as aggressive as him" Brady whispers back, shaking his head.

"You'll definitely nail it" I encourage him, soon jolting up in my seat from something under the table. The tip of Miguel's shoe had made contact with mine, probably from him stretching. Once I turned to him I noticed a halfway angry look on his face.

"You okay?" Brady asks and I nod quickly.

"Just shivering, it's kinda cold in here" I lie, rubbing my arms to play into the act. He raises his eyebrows before gesturing to his jacket.

"You can wear this till we leave if you want, I'm a little too warm right now"

"Oh, that'd be great are you sure you don't mind?" I smile, sitting up in my chair now. Brady definitely wasn't just warm-blooded, because even I was feeling a little hot in this room. But, he agreed and told me it was fine, handing me over the jacket. I slipped into it, thanking him like it was the best thing in the world.

Of course though, I immediately wanted to take it off. The fabric was already warm because of Brady, making the heat even worse. Miguel looked at me from across the table, trying to hide a grin. He knew the exact situation I was in, and somehow that entertained him.
