"Really Billy?" I held back tears.
"Yes really. I came out to have a good time, but you're ruining it." He snapped leaning towards me. I stood back a little, his blue eyes pierced into mine.We stood in the middle of the bar, I felt all eyes on me. We were stuck in the same problem we always run into. I was unsure of what the problem was this time. Maybe it was my outfit, or my makeup, or the fact that I missed his call by a couple of rings.
All I knew was that I was embarrassed. If I were being honest, I didn't even want to come. Billy hounded me and explained it was throwback rock theme at the bar tonight. I said he could go by himself, but he explained I had to be there with him. As if I was some kind of possession of his.
"How am I gonna get home?" I asked.
"Not my fucking problem." He snapped."Ellie what time are you off?" He asked.
"I'm off at one."
"Good she can take you home." He brushed his hand against my face, walking out of the bar I felt my heart sink. I was left there useless, making my way towards the bar Ellie and I made eye contact. We've been through this before. Billy gets in these mood, where if something goes wrong he blames it on the first person he sees. Usually it's me, I've learned to take the blame, although I've been through it before it still pains me to be embarrassed like this.
"Left alone again?" Ellie asked cleaning off a glass.
"Yeah-" I muttered."Why don't you just leave him?" She asked handing gathering up the things for my drink.
"Because it's just not that easy." I scoffed, I handed her my debit card. To which she just nodded her head softly."It's on the house."
"Why-""Because." She replied.
"Come on Lex, you've been dating this guy for how many years?" She asked rimming the glass. I enjoyed coming to this bar, nice people...nice music and good drinks.Too bad most of my memories were often the same. Me sitting here by myself, talking to Ellie. I had gotten to know her well, before I turned twenty one Billy had gotten me a fake. But now that I'm twenty two I felt like anxious coming here.
