Chapter 9

Broderick, Harlow and the pack are in the main dining hall waiting for Dax to turn up for them to go to work. He is usually here before now and when Broderick went to check where he was he heard Selene and Dax and left them to it. He knows his alpha and best mate has missed his mate the past week not being able to spend anytime with her. Eleanor had told him that no one had seen her, she had shut herself in the house and they didn't know what to do. The door to the great hall opens and Dax walks in with Selene by his side, the two laughing and joking like usual. They walk towards the them and the boys go to stand when Dax stops them.

"You guys take the day off. I am taking Selene to show her around"
"You sure boss?"
"Yes. Besides I am sick of seeing your ugly mug and not having my beautiful goddess to look at"
"The feeling is mutual"
The two laugh and Dax and Selene say their byes before heading out of the hall and to his Mercedes. Making the hour ride to his office building. What Selene wasn't expecting was how big the office was. It was a multi-story building with Amery Inc on the top of it. She gets out of the car and he wraps his arms around her.

"What do you think baby girl?"
"You own the whole thing?"
"Yep. Well technically we do"
"No Dax you do. Stop all that"
He chuckles and kisses her mark before taking her hand and leading her into the building. The two security guards at the front smile when they see him and Dax stops and smiles at them.

"Fred, Allister I would like to introduce you to my mate and the love of my life Selene. Baby these are two of the finest Security guards in the world."
"It is lovely to meet you both"
"Well Mr Amery I hope you don't mind me saying but you are one lucky son of a gun. It is a pleasure to finally meet you Selene"
Fred bows to her and Allister smirks and winks at her.

"It is nice to finally meet the woman who has this one going all googly eyed"
"Googly Eyed?"
"Yes last week he was pratically staring off and smiling like an idiot"
Selene giggles and Dax face palms before looking at the two.

"I am going now before you say any more"
"Oh baby I want to hear more"
"Nope not happening baby girl"
He lifts Selene up and puts her over his shoulder causing her to laugh. He walks through reception to the elevator and up to the top floor. Once the elevator doors shut he puts her down and kisses her before taking her hand in his. As they step out into the black tiled corridor she is teasing him.

"So what was you thinking about when you were all googly eyed"
"You led beneath me.."
"Okay stop"
"I thought you wanted to know baby"
She moves away from him and starts to slowly back away from him, he pops his tongue against his cheek and she stops just staring at him. He uses it to his advantage and pulls her into him and kisses her.

"That is cheating baby"
"I love that I get you like that baby girl. It just makes me more certain that you are mine and only mine."
"No one else baby"
He kisses her once more and then lifts her up a little. When her feet are back on the floor and they pull away Dax sees some of his employees looking shocked. When Selene turns around and they see her he sees the jaws slack and he can't help the big grin fall across his lips. Selene had that natural mythical beauty about her. Everything just drew you in, from her eyes, to her hair, to her skin and the sultry voice. She was a goddess by every meaning of the word.

"Everyone I would like you to officially meet Selene my girlfriend."
Selene sees the females frown at the word and she has to stifle her laugh. Harlow had told her that Dax was what they called the eligible bachelor. He was young, handsome, loaded and every woman wanted to be the one to steal his heart. The fact an eighteen year old girl they had never heard of is the one that has done it doesn't sit well with some of the females that know Dax. Well who think they know Dax. Selene learnt quickly that if Dax introduces her has is girlfriend it is because they are mortal.
