Chapter 5

The Ice Pack house is in full party mode. Everyone is mingling and the unmated females are hoping tonight they find their mates. Other local packs have arrived and they are waiting to meet the mate of the great Daxon Amery. Daxon, Broderick and Harlow are in the great hall with everyone waiting for their mates to come down. Eleanor and Amara wanted to get Selene ready and surprise him. He gave them the necklace and earrings he bought her as a late birthday present before he headed down with the boys.

Selene is stood at the top of the marble stairs with Eleanor and Amara, her nerves hitting her like a tone of bricks. Amara and Eleanor take their Luna's hand and squeeze it.

"You look stunning Selene. Just think tomorrow you will finally be from this hell hole"
"Then we can get to find out how kickass our Luna is"
"Oh god"
The two girls chuckle and then the three walk down the stairs together, Eleanor and Amara are like Selene's beta and Gamma. They have became her rock since yesterday and she is grateful she was graced with their friendship. As they get to the entrance of the great hall the two girls let her hand go and step behind her.

"What are you doing?"
"We have your back Luna"
"We are right behind you"
Selene looks ahead and starts to panic as strangers all look at her and whisper. She feels her breath getting heavy and can hear little whispers even with the music loud. Dax steps out in front so she can see him and when she does she smiles as she looks at him. He slowly starts to walk as she walks towards him. Broderick and Harlow falling behind him just like their mates are with Selene. Everyone's eyes on them as they close the distance to each other. When Dax takes her hand and pulls her in for a kiss they all whisper more.

"You look stunning baby girl"
"Says the one looking all sexy and handsome in that tux. Thank you for the gifts baby but you didn't have to do that"
"It is a birthday gift. I knew it would look stunning on you as soon as I saw it"
He traces the necklace with his finger causing her skin to tinkle. Broderick and Harlow smile as they hold their mates close to them. Dax takes her hand into his and he takes her to the bar to get her a drink.

"What do you fancy baby girl?"
"I have no idea I have never drunk in my life"
"Can I get a double bourbon please"
The barman nods and once he pours it he passes it to Selene. She tries a bit and her eyes snap to his, when he sees that sparkle he chuckles then asks for another. The barman smirks as he makes another double bourbon. Once they have their drinks the two walk to where the moon pack are. Eyes on them the entire time. Dax takes a seat and pulls Selene on to his lap.

"Babe there is a seat right beside you."
"Why is my lap not good enough for you baby girl?"
He cocks his eyebrow up and smirks popping his tongue in his cheek. The one habit of his that drives her wild.

"Nope it is perfectly fine. Now stop doing that."
He chuckles and kisses her neck, his hand running up and down her bare back. The touch sending electric shocks through her body. One of the pack members in front of her who looks around her age notices Dax's wolf on her arm and is looking at the detail.

"That is some impressive ink Luna"
"Hurt like hell but it is nice. You can also call me Selene."
He looks to Dax fear on his face and Dax smirks.

"Cody if Selene wants you to call her Selene that is fine. Only address her as Luna when in work mode that is one rule I will be sticking by"
"Yes Alpha"
Selene notices the boy beside Cody who is looking at him adoringly and she looks to Dax and mouths mate. He nods.

"Hyunwoo is originally from the Korean pack. When we went to South Korea the two mated."
"Wait you get to go to Korea?"
"Yes baby we travel all over the world. Although when I go to Korea I might leave you home. I don't want you running off with any of those K-pop idols"
"You like K-pop?"
The two look to Hyunwoo who looks like a kid at Christmas.
