The month of November fly by as fast as the two previous months. Recently, March and I mostly planned our hangouts outside so we can enjoy the orange and golden leaves before they shed and covered with snow. Though I do love the winter, I sure will be missing the warmth of Autumn. I'll miss the times when we would rake leaves into big piles and jumped into them and repeat cycle. But I guess there's always next year, right?
30th of November is gone and 1st December arrived. Both March and I loved the winter. Although our outdoor activities are now rather limited because of the freezing temperatures and exams, we still bonded over the month. We would do different activities like making a snowman, sledding, ice skating and making snow angels before retiring back to the library and sit by the hearth fire with a cup of cocoa and marchmallows. Hehe, see what I did there?
But enough about the fun stuffs because exams are rolling in and flatten us like a dough of pizza. 2 subjects a day?! This is crazy. Even worse, they paired astronomy and physics together. Is this what hell feels like?! This is absolutely ridiculous. Thankfully, despite his full schedule, March still spare some time to tutor me. Though just a sight of an equation makes me feel sick, March somehow makes it even more fun. And equipped with mom and dad's presents - a set of school supplies and astronomy and physics encyclopedia (they know I suck at those) - I'm really pumped up to study which is something incredibly rare considering it's physics and astronomy we're talking about. In exchange, I decided to spare some of my time to tutor March on biology and chemistry too.
Finally, after gruelling days of being tested on our knowledge - a.k.a. pressuring us so much we can't even remember what we've learned - it's finally over. And just a few days after it, we'll be going home to visit our parents for the winter holidays! Well, we had an option to stay at the school too though but I decided to pay a visit to my parents anyway. March however chooses to stay. He said something about his parent's visiting another country for work and his sister's too busy to come visit. But he reassured me that his family's going to call him during the holidays to keep him company.
Days went by and finally it's time to go back home. I packed up my stuff and dragged my trunk outside where March decided to help me. Though I insisted I can manage, he- being the stubborn guy that he is - pretend to not hear anything and continue assisting me with my trunk. When we reached the gates, I spotted a pair of headlights approaching and my rusty second hand car came to view. Bidding March goodbye and promising to keep in touch with him during the holidays, I step into the car and slowly watched as March's figure disappear in the distance.

9 pm. I turned my gaze away from the wall clock before flopping backwards on my bed. My hand that gripped my phone tightly began to lose it's grip and my phone rolled over the folds of the thick blankets. I gaze at the upside down phone and frowned with disappointment. Earlier into the holidays, March had kept his promise and kept in touch with me. It feels great chatting with him. And then suddenly he just goes offline for ages! He promised to have a video call tonight around 8 and now's 9. It's been an entire hour. I know it might sound weird but my parents had a strict early curfew and I should be asleep by now. But I can't. I can't stop gazing at the phone. Turning it on at random intervals only to see the empty lock screen is like my habit from now on. I shoved my face into my pillow. Why did March lose contact with me? Am I too annoying. However, just before I can start criticizing myself, I heard voices from the living room. Unable to keep in my curiosity, I tiptoed towards the door and pressed my ear hard against it and try to make out what my parents are saying.
"Would you just please calm down for once, William!" Mom sighed.
"How am I supposed to calm down! the boy's a threat to our daughter!" Dad thundered.
