Chapter 21
It was around 2 a.m. when Wooyoung stirred awake. He slowly opened his eyes to find San driving the car. Wooyoung stayed quiet, watching him in silence. His mind was filled with countless thoughts that needed careful consideration before he spoke, but his mouth was faster than his thoughts.
"I love you, San."
As soon as those words left his mouth, San abruptly stopped the car. The streets were empty at this hour, and it was just the two of them, the quiet night surrounding them.
San turned to Wooyoung, tears pooling in his eyes.
"Please, say that again," San said, his voice shaky.
"..."
"Please?" San's voice wavered, desperate.
"I love you so much, San."
Without saying another word, San quickly got out of the car, went to the other side, and opened the door to pull Wooyoung out. The moment they were both outside, San broke down, sobbing into Wooyoung's neck as they embraced each other tightly.
"You don't know how much I wanted to hear this. How much it means to me," he cried.
Wooyoung stood there, lost in the moment, thinking about everything other than the consequences. Right now, all he needed was to be with him.
"I'm sorry, San. I'm really sorry," he whispered, tears staining San's neck.
"I'm really sorry."
"Shhh. It's okay," San murmured, holding him even tighter.
"Hey, Woo... look at me," San said, gently cupping Wooyoung's face and caressing it softly.
When Wooyoung met his gaze, their eyes locked. Both of their hearts skipped a beat. Wooyoung's eyes, large and luminous, were dark, like the blackest night. They shone with fresh tears, making them even more beautiful. Everything else disappeared in that moment. Time seemed to stop, and they were just two people, existing in a single heartbeat. Then, without warning, their lips met. It wasn't a kiss of lust, but one of emotion: love, admiration, need, affection, passion, and so much more, all communicated through their connection.
Thunder rumbled in the distance, and slowly, rain began to fall. But nothing stopped them. They kissed through the rain, lost in each other.
San pulled away slightly to catch his breath, then slowly leaned back in, his lips reconnecting with Wooyoung's. As their mouths met again, San's tongue gently asked for entrance, and Wooyoung let him in. The kiss deepened, slow but demanding. It felt as if the entire universe collapsed around them, stars dying and scattering into the void. Nothing else mattered in that moment. Butterflies fluttered in their stomachs, and the kiss grew more passionate, full of love and longing.
The moment was broken by a loud thunderclap, and when they finally pulled apart, they realized they were soaked through. They decided to find a hotel nearby. The drive took half an hour, but not a word was spoken between them. They just held hands tightly, the night rain pouring down outside.
After checking in, they took separate showers. As Wooyoung stood under the hot water, a smile spread across San's face, unable to hide his excitement. Finally, he had heard the confession he had been waiting for from the person he loved. He could hardly believe it, afraid that maybe he would wake up and realize it had all been a dream. But if this was what love felt like, San would do anything to hold onto it, even if it meant going to extreme lengths.
Once Wooyoung was finished with his shower, he came out just as San went in. Wooyoung rubbed his hair with a towel and plopped down onto the bed. His mind raced, filled with questions.
What have I done?
What if he gets hurt because of me?
What if they come for him too?
Do I even deserve him?
What should I do?His thoughts were overwhelming, and he couldn't shake the worry gnawing at him. There were too many questions without answers, and he couldn't find peace until he knew what to do.
"Hey... what are you thinking about?" Wooyoung's breath hitched when he felt San on top of him, cuddling him close.
"N-nothing," Wooyoung stammered.
"Come on, don't lie to me. I'm here for you," San said softly, his voice full of warmth as he nuzzled Wooyoung's neck.
...
...
"San... I'm scared," Wooyoung whispered. "What if they hurt you too? What if they take you away from me, like they did with my parents?" He said with worry. "I don't think I'll be able to live without you."
San's heart ached as he held Wooyoung tighter. "It's okay, Woo. I won't let anyone take you away from me. As long as I'm alive, I'll be here. You'll never get rid of me. I won't let you get hurt. I'll never leave you. I'll love you forever. Together, we'll get through anything. And don't forget—you're not alone in this."
"Thank you," Wooyoung whispered, tears falling. "Thank you so much. It means the world to me. I know I have a lot to explain, but... let me just say this—I love you more than anything."
"Say that again," San whispered.
"I love you so, so much, San," Wooyoung said, his eyes filled with love and affection.
"I love you so, so much too, Wooyoung," San replied, his heart full of the same love.
And with that, they both drifted off to sleep, wrapped in each other's arms.
