THE BABY AT THE DOOR [SEVENTEEN FF]

Chapter 29

As the entire family rushes to join the hug that Seungcheol had pulled Jeonghan into.., Dino giggles loudly, sensing the happy mood around him, and starts jumping excitedly in Soonyoung's arms..., the alpha cheering him up even more.., holding his tiny hands and making random moves with them as he sways the baby sideways,
"Yaayyy Dino-ya... That's it... That's how you dance.", Seungcheol and the others cheerfully encourage the baby, laughing out aloud when Dino giggles even harder at that, babbling something totally random and clapping clumsily.

Seungkwan, who usually is the most hyper active one at times like these.., however stays back, one particular thing that has happened earlier making him stay behind and think hard,
"Isn't it just Hannie Hyung who's pregnant...?", He mumbles to himself, unaware that there was someone else who was standing beside him,
"Why did Cheol Hyung say 'we' are pregnant to Hannie Hyung? Have I not listened correctly now.., or have I not listened correctly while I was taking my biology lessons in class... Is Seungcheol Hyung pregnant too-"

A gentle laugh interrupts his mumbling, and all Seungkwan wants to do is run away and hide when he sees who it was.., going as far as even taking a step to walk away, but then haults as he hears Hansol speak,
"No.", the alpha says without looking at him.., continuing when he side-eyes that Seungkwan wasn't leaving anymore,
"No you haven't not listened correctly now onr have you done so in your biology class, and also No, Seungcheol Hyung isn't pregnant either."
The young omega then feels Hansol's gaze turning towards him.., and he wants to look that way too.., but he couldn't bring himself to do so, not while things were still awkward between them, and so he just stands there, neither moving nor talking, just silently waiting for Hansol to continue.
A deep breath is heard followed by a sigh, and then he finally hears the alpha again,
"When Hyung said 'We are pregnant', he meant that eventhough Hannie Hyung is the one carrying the baby, Cheol Hyung is going to be equally invested in this pregnancy, ready to do everything in his reach to support Hannie Hyung." Hansol softly explains, smiling as he sees Seungkwan's eyes widening and his lips forming an 'O' at that,
"It has actually been like that in our family for a long time.. That's how the alphas of our family reassure their omegas that they aren't going to be alone in this... that their mates are there for them, and will stay by their side throughout the process and even after that."

"Cheesy af...", Seungkwan scoffs, ready to go and tease Seungcheol for being so hopelessly sappy, but then decides against it when his eyes suddenly lands at his senior being all giggly as Seungcheol picks him up in his arms, slowly spinning the omega after getting teased by him, while the others form a circle around them, cheering loudly for the couple,
"Thankyou...", He breathes out, feeling happy about getting to know yet another time as to just how much love Seungcheol had for his lovely Hyung.., he couldn't be more thankful to God for giving Jeonghan exactly what the omega deserved, which was nothing other than the best,
"Thanks for letting me know.", He says to the alpha next to him and tries to leave to join the couple's celebrations when Hansol tugs at his sweater,
"Wait,Kwannie...", The alpha desperately speaks, quickly loosening his grip around the sweater when his eyes meets with those of Seungkwan's,
"C-Can we talk?"

Seungkwan's eyes turns soft for a while, but then he gets reminded of how Hansol has been treating him like a complete stranger since the moment he has returned from the trip with the others., and so even if he doesn't want to...,
He scoffs, turning his face away from Hansol,
"Talk? Are you sure that's what you really want?", He asks, his tone being cold and distant.

"Kwann-"

"I think we aren't that close anymore for you to call me that.", He blurts out, being annoyed at how easy it was for Hansol to pretend as if nothing wrong had ever happened and just call him like that as if he wasn't ever ignoring the omega before.
