Just Jake being clingy and in love with his Golden Retriever boyfriend. And he takes too many melatonin gummies. Also they're older so they live in an apartment or whatever.

I slowly open up my eyes to reveal the ceiling I've woken up too everyday for six months. I've been alone in the complex for almost a week because Devon went to his Aunt's house to visit. He just got back last night and I was going to wait for him on the couch but I guess I fell asleep and he carried me to our bed; or I sleepwalk now. I shift to my right and see my alarm clock, almost 11am. I groan, not wanting to get up, but I smell the pancakes and toast from across the apartment. Devon was, once again, cooking for me. I can't explain how much I love him. We've been dating ever since I was fourteen and I've been attached to him since.

Smelling the food gave me the motivation to get out of bed. Still drowsy, I rub my eyes and stretch as I make my way to the kitchen. I waddle around the complex until I found him, I snake my arms around his waist and put my head on his shoulder, I slowly close my eyes again and smile.

"Good morning, babe."
He greeted.

"Mornin'."
I mumble, I could barely hear myself.

"How did you sleep last night?"
He asks, I could hear him smirk.

I shrug,
"m'don't know"
I answer. It takes me a minute to even process his question.

"Still tired huh?"
He comments, I nod and he chuckles.

"How was it at your aunt's?"
I ask.

"It was pretty alright. I visited my mom and dad's grave, which was the worst part about it. I saw my younger cousins and we went to restaurants I haven't been too in awhile. And yeah. It was just nice to see my family again."
Devon explains, I didn't understand anything he said but it seemed like he had a good time.

"Also Lexy and Nadine are coming over later for a sleepover. I don't know if you remember or not so I just thought I'd remind you."
He adds, quickly running his fingers through my hair, I watch as he flips a pancake. Looks like the last one in the batch.

"Why don't you go sit down? I'll butter your pancakes and toast and then we can get ready for Lexy and Nadine."
He suggests, I refuse. I want to stay here with him, my body attached to his.

I don't know why I felt so clingy, maybe because he's been gone for a week and I'm craving some attention; I'm not sure. But being up against him felt nice right now. I just want him to carry me to the couch and cuddle.

"Ok. Well you will need to get off me in a minute, but you can stay right there until I'm done."
Devon chuckles.

After breakfast, he gets changed. He came back out to the living with plaid pajama pants and a different hoodie, literally the same thing he wore this morning. I give him determined grabby hands, signaling him to come cuddle me.

"Damn those gummies I got really got you good. How many did you take?"
He claims.

"Three, I think. Plus two cups of that sleepy tea you got me. Those work like a charm."
I mutter. He starts spooning me in his arms. Now I really get comfortable. I close my eyes again and let myself fall asleep. I hear Devon texting someone, but that's the least of my concerns.

When I wake up again, Devon is slowly falling asleep. His eyes shutting then forcing themselves open again. I sit up and attempt to sooth him. Also giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. I lay back down on his chest as his breathing evens out. I give him another kiss. I just want to show my love for him.
