Spring. The time of warmth, sun, the end of the school year!
Spring. The time of stress, tests, and yes, the dreaded SOLs.
I understand the thought behind SOLs. I really do. All children get education. Happiness for all. But why do we have to base the whole year off of them?
High school diplomas, summer school, your parents opinion of you, sometimes even teacher salaries are all based on SOLs.
Why can't we learn based on what is useful?
What if you're a bad test taker?
We should not be judged by a test. We should be judged on how we learn, what we learned.
