hohooh they go spin i can't find what royal people in japan wore during this time so uh yakos still wearing the same bc shes already wearing traditional clothes and we just dont talk about tsuchigomori's clothes

Tonight was a big ball where many different royalties from several kingdoms would attend. Tsuchigomori stood up as 3 servants helped prepare him for it, as this was an important event. Tsuchigomori's parents didn't allow him to go to these events until he was much older, so he's very inexperienced. Now, Tsuchigomori just turned 24 a month ago so his parents started allowing him to go to these a few months before his birthday.

When it started, he was just sitting most of the time as people were talking and dancing, he sat there, bored. He didn't personally knew as much people as other people do so he always had trouble with this.

Tsuchigomori slowly escaped his seat, trying to not draw any attention walked out of the ballroom slowly. Once he was in the long dark corridors he ran all the way outside to the castle garden. He leaned against a big juniper tree then he felt him bump into someone.

"Hey- who are you?" They both said to each other in shock since neither of them thought there was anyone else here. They stared at each other for a few seconds before introducing themselves. "Tsuchigomori Ryūjirou" "Misaki Yako" "..."

"Do you come here often?" She asked  and he looked at her with a slight warm smile. She had long beige hair tied and braided neatly, sharp green eyes with hints of gold and blue. She had a small white and salmon coloured bow at the back of her head. Her hands were covered with white gloves and she wore a intricate designed kimono and a white haori on top.

He nodded, to her question and opened his mouth to speak but thought for a second on what to say. "... I like to come here for some fresh air and rest for a bit.. to run away from all the stress" and Yako immediately felt a sense of kinship with him.

He stood up and dusted off his shirt a bit and extended out a hand for Yako "We should get back now" and Yako took his hand and stood up, following him as they walked back into the ballroom.

Their footsteps echoed gently as they walked, their shoes clicking against the shiny floor then they saw a big arched door and walked back in. They squinted their eyes a little because their eyes had already adjusted to the darkness of the corridor and is just now getting used to being back in the light.

Tsuchigomori and Yako talked more throughout the night, getting closer. When everyone started dancing again, Tsuchigomori asked her "Would you care to dance?" and her eyes looked back up to him as she nodded and they both walked to the middle of the room.

Yako didn't know how to dance very well but thankfully, she knew the basics. She laid her hand on his shoulder and intertwined her fingers with his hand. Yako was embarrassed the whole time thinking that she bad at dancing because Tsuchigomori kept staring at her.

They spinned and glided across the tiles, it felt like they were flying. They went back after to sit down after a while because they were both tired and sat down. "Yako?" a blonde middle aged woman called out and Yako stood up "I'm sorry but I have to go now" and Yako disappeared quickly before Tsuchigomori could say anything.

For the next several nights they both barely had any sleep. They were concerned for each other if anything bad happened to one another. Every night they would have trouble sleeping and even during the day they would have trouble concentrating.

One night, Tsuchigomori had an idea. He sneaked out of his room by an open window and went to the garden, only bringing a pen and envelope with him. He looked around first until it was clear that there was nobody in the garden and approached that same juniper tree where they first met.
