Daisy POV
I stood up and followed him out of the basement.
I walked up the stairs and a beautiful garden came in to view and in front of it was biggest mantion I've ever seen. This place was bigger than any movie I have ever seen.
We walked inside and walked up the stairs and then down the hall into what looked like an office.
I walked inside and I couldn't shake off the feeling that something bad was going to happen. When we got inside, he sat down at his desk and gestured for me to take a seat in front of him.
"Daisy, I need you to understand that this is not a normal job. You are not just a nanny. You are here for a very specific reason," he said.
I furrowed my brows in confusion. "What do you mean?" I asked.
"You have been brought here to take care of Lily, yes, but also to keep her safe. There are people out there who would love to harm her. You will be responsible for her well-being, no matter what," he said.
My heart rate quickened at the mention of danger. "What kind of danger?" I asked.
Dominic leaned forward in his chair, his eyes fixed on mine. "The kind of danger that comes with being wealthy and powerful. We have enemies who would stop at nothing to take us down. And if they can't get to us directly, they will go after our loved ones. That's why we need someone like you, someone who is not afraid to fight back if necessary," he explained.
I sat there, taking in his words. This was definitely not what I had signed up for. But I couldn't deny that a part of me was intrigued. I had never felt like I had a purpose in life, and maybe this was it. Maybe I could make a difference, even if it meant putting myself in danger.
"I understand," I said finally. "I'll do whatever it takes to protect Lily."
Dominic nodded, a small smile appearing on his lips. "Good. I knew I could count on you."
As I left his office, my mind was racing. I had just been thrown into a whole new world, one where danger lurked around every corner. But I was ready to face it head on, for the sake of Lily and her family.
I walked down the stairs and I was met with an women standing in the middle of the living room. I looked at her and to be quite honest, she scared me. She just had this mean look to her. "Daisy
Im Silvia. Im going to show you to your room and tell you how everything works around here, " Silvia said."Hello." I whispered.
"Well, come on. We have a lot to do, so come now, " she said, and I followed her.
She showed me around the house and started explaining what was expected of me. I was never to come in contact with Dominic unless he asked to see me, I wasn't aloud to leave the house unless I had permission to do so, I wasn't allowed to talk, unless I was spoken to by the people around here. I basically wasn't allowed to do a lot of things.
After the long speech I received, Silvia showed me to my room. Most of the staff here were allowed to leave as they wished so they didn't have to spend the night here.
Silvia showed me to my room. It was a pretty small room. It had a small bed, a night stand, a closet, and a small bathroom with a shower.
Silvia gave me 20 min to get myself ready to start work. I simply nodded, and she walked into the small room.
I sat down on the bed and began to process everything that just happened to me. What the hell just happened. How did I end up here? I was literally walking home from work, and now here i am. Where the heck was I? What was going to become of my life now. My head was spinning. What did this Dominic guy do? How is he so rich? I should have been scared of Dominic, but for some reason, I wasn't. I wasn't scared of death. Never was. On the contrary, I actually pleaded for death a lot of times when I was younger. I shook the thought away and made my way to the living room.
I was looking around when I saw Lily on top of the stairs. "Lily," I said, and the moment I did, she ran down the stairs and hugged me.
I kneeled down and hugged her back. "Daisy, are you ok. What happened to your eye?" She said in a really low voice.
I completely forgot the mean looking guy punched me. "Oh nothing, I fell and hit the door. Im very clumsy, you know, " I said, smiling at her.
"My brother told me you're going to be my new nanny. Is that true?" She asked.
"I will be if that's OK with you." I smiled at her.
A big grin came across her face. "I'm definitely ok with it." She said.
"In that case," I said as I picked her up and spun her around, and she started laughing.
I heard someone clear their throat behind me. I put Lily down and turned around.
