Daisy POV
As Dominic drove away to work, I stood in front of the house, admiring the beautiful garden surrounding it. I couldn't resist the urge to explore it, so I started walking around, trying to take in every detail.
After a while, I walked back into the house and made my way to the library. I loved reading, and I couldn't believe how many books were in there. I grabbed one that caught my eye and started reading, completely engrossed in the story.
Suddenly, I realized that it was already 3 pm, and I had to go pick up Lily. I wasn't sure who was going to take me to her school, but then a man appeared and said he would drive me there.
We arrived at Lily's school, and as soon as she got in the car, I asked her how her day was.
"It was okay," she replied, but I could tell that something was wrong.
"Are you sure, Lily? You can tell me anything," I said, trying to encourage her to open up.
"Some girls were making fun of me at school today," she finally admitted.
"Why?" I asked, feeling angry on her behalf.
"Because I don't like talking to people. These two girls pushed me off the swings," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
"That's not okay, Lily. I'm sorry that happened to you," I said, trying to comfort her.
"I don't want my brother to know," she said quickly.
"I won't tell him, Lily. But I think we should talk to your teacher," I said.
"No, please don't, Daisy. They'll make fun of me even more," she said, looking even sadder than before.
"I understand how you feel, Lily. The same thing happened to me when I was in school," I said, hoping to connect with her.
"Really?" she asked, her eyes widening with surprise.
"Yes, really. And my mom helped me," I said, smiling at her.
"What did your mom do?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.
"She talked to my teacher, and the teacher started checking up on me more often. Eventually, the girls stopped bullying me," I said.
"Really? They just stopped?" she asked, sounding hopeful.
"Yes, really. And I think we should talk to your teacher too, Lily. But only if you want to," I said.
"Okay," she said, nodding her head slowly.
"Thank you for telling me, Lily. And remember, I'm here for you," I said, giving her a warm hug.
"Where's your mom now?" she asked suddenly.
"She's in heaven," I replied, feeling a twinge of sadness.
"Just like my mommy and daddy," she said softly.
"Yes, we both have an angel taking care of us," I said, trying to sound cheerful.
"What about your daddy?" she asked, sounding curious.
"I haven't seen him in a long time, Lily," I said, trying to keep my voice steady.
"Why not?" she asked, sounding concerned.
"He wasn't a nice daddy to me, Lily," I said, feeling tears pricking my eyes.
"So you don't have a mommy and daddy like me?" she said, sounding sympathetic.
"No, I don't," I said, feeling a lump forming in my throat.
"It's okay, Daisy. You have me and my brother. We can be your family," she said, her kind heart shining through.
I smiled at her, feeling touched by her words. "Thank you, Lily. That means a lot to me," I said.
"Do you want to be my sister?" she asked
I smiled at her. "I would love to be your sister," I replied, and we hugged each other.
We then got home, and I helped Lily with her homework.
