Daisy POV

With Dominic at work and Lily at school, I decided to spend some quiet time in the garden, catching up on my reading. As I sat on the bench, engrossed in my book, I noticed someone standing beside me. I looked up and saw Anthony, a familiar face. A smile spread across my face as I greeted him.

"Hi Anthony, I haven't seen you in a while," I said, genuinely happy to see him.

"Yeah, I went away for work," he replied vaguely, not revealing the specifics of his job under Dominic.

"Well, it's nice to have you back," I said, smiling warmly.

Then he asked me a question that caught me off guard. "Is it true? Are you marrying the Don?" he inquired.

Surprised by his directness, I nodded and replied, "Yes, I am."

He seemed thoughtful for a moment before speaking again. "You two are right for each other. I saw the way he looks at you. I used to look at my wife the same way," he said, a touch of nostalgia in his voice.

I appreciated his kind words and expressed my gratitude. "Thanks, Anthony. I really appreciate it," I said sincerely.

He responded, "No problem. Just be careful. This is a very dangerous world we live in. If you ever need anything from me, don't hesitate to ask."

His concern touched me, and I mustered the courage to make a request. "Actually, right now, I do have a favor to ask," I said, feeling a mix of nervousness and hope.

Curiosity sparked in his eyes as he asked, "What is it?"

"Could you walk me down the aisle?" I asked, and his eyes widened with surprise.

"What?" he exclaimed, clearly taken aback.

"Anthony, you've been more of a father to me than my actual father ever was. I would be honored if you could walk me down the aisle," I explained, my voice filled with emotion.

He paused for a moment, absorbing my words, before finally responding, "If you're sure, Hazel, it would be an honor."

"I'm 100% sure," I said, standing up and embracing him in a grateful hug.

"Thanks, Anthony," I said, truly appreciating his acceptance of my request.

"You're very welcome, Hazel," he replied warmly.

We continued talking for a while, enjoying each other's company, before I had to leave for a doctor's appointment. My persistent illness had led me to seek a check-up.

After some tests, the doctor called me back into his office. I anxiously glanced at the test results in my hands. "Pregnant," I read aloud, my mind reeling with shock. I couldn't believe it—I was pregnant. I didn't know how to process the news or what it meant for my future. The doctor provided me with some vitamins and sent me on my way.

Arriving home, uncertainty consumed me. Should I tell Dominic? What if he wasn't ready for a baby at this moment? Lost in my thoughts, I sat on the bed, still holding the pamphlets the doctor had given me.

Suddenly, a knock on the door interrupted my contemplation. "Daisy, can I come in?" Lily's voice called out.

I quickly gathered the papers and folder, responding, "Sure, Lily."

Lily entered the room and jumped onto the bed, wrapping her arms around me in a tight hug. Returning her embrace, I asked, "How was school, Lils?"

She sighed dramatically. "It was boring," she complained.

A mischievous smile played on her lips as she continued, "Can we go watch a movie

?"

Smiling back, I agreed, "Sure. Let me just..." I started to say, but before I could finish, Lily grabbed the folder from my hands and curiously opened it.

My eyes widened in panic. "Lily, what's this?" she asked, pointing at the pictures of pregnant moms. "Are you pregnant, Daisy? Am I going to be an auntie?" Her excitement was contagious.

Caught off guard, I debated whether to reveal the truth. However, seeing Lily's joy, I couldn't resist. "Yes, you are going to be an auntie," I confirmed, a smile tugging at my lips.

She immediately jumped up, hugging me tightly, and started bouncing on the bed with excitement. "Yay! I'm going to be an auntie!" she exclaimed, her happiness infectious.

As Lily settled down on the bed, I leaned in closer to her. "I just have a favor to ask, Lily. Please don't tell your brother. I want to surprise him at our wedding. Can you keep this a secret?" I requested, hoping she could understand the importance of the surprise.

With a nod and a sincere expression, Lily replied, "Of course, sis."

Overwhelmed with joy, I hugged her tightly, feeling grateful for everyone in my life.
