Daisy POVI arrived at the front gates of the mansion, and the security guard looked relieved to see me.
"Thank goodness you're here, miss. The Don was going crazy looking for you," he said, but I remained silent. It was strange to hear people refer to Dominic as "the Don." He let me inside, and I saw him pull out his phone.
As I walked towards the main entrance, I could sense Dominic's frantic presence.
"Where the hell were you?!" he exclaimed, but I decided to ignore him and continued walking past him. He grabbed my arm, preventing me from moving any further.
Frustrated, I looked him in the eye and spoke firmly, "Mr. Valentino, I am your employee. Do you interrogate all of your employees about their whereabouts when they are not working?" He stared at me intensely. "Could you please release my arm?" I asked him and he released his grip on my arm.
"I was worried about you," he said softly.
"I am capable of taking care of myself, Mr. Valentino. You don't need to worry," I replied, trying to maintain my composure. "Now, if you'll excuse me..." I trailed off, attempting to walk away.
However, this time, Dominic surprised me by pulling me into a hug. I gasped at the sudden closeness. "I'm sorry," he said sincerely. "I'm sorry for yelling at you." I tried to pull away, but his hold was strong. "I understand that you're angry, but what you saw wasn't what it seemed," he explained.
I was cautious not to fall for his words again. Zayden had told me about Dominic's urgent meeting, which is why he couldn't train with me. But then I discovered him with another woman in his office. It seemed like a convenient excuse to be with her.
Before I could voice my doubts, he continued, "I know what you're thinking, and you're wrong. I did have an important business meeting with Isabella's father today. He insisted on seeing me today, and I couldn't refuse. Isabella tagged along but refused to leave. She walked into my office, and when I asked her to leave, she sat on my lap and started kissing me. I immediately pushed her away, and that's when I saw you at the door of my office," he explained.
I didn't know what to believe. Dominic still held me in his arms, refusing to let go. Eventually, he released me but kept his gaze locked with mine.
"Please say something, Daisy," he whispered.
"I don't... I don't know what you want me to say," I replied, my eyes lowered. I wanted to trust him, but it was hard to find a logical explanation for his feelings towards me.
"Say you'll forgive me," he pleaded, lifting my chin with his finger to meet his eyes. "I meant what I said yesterday, Daisy. I have genuine feelings for you. Feelings I've never experienced before," he confessed.
I searched his eyes, desperately seeking sincerity. "Dominic, even if I were to believe you and forgive you, we don't belong together," I said, tears streaming down my face. "You and I just don't make sense. We come from completely different worlds. You should be with someone of your status," I added, trying to make sense of the situation.
"To hell with everything and everyone," he declared passionately. "All I need to know is whether you feel anything for me. Are you drawn to me like I am drawn to you?" His eyes remained fixed on mine.
"Yes, but..." I began to respond.
"That's all I need to know," he interjected, pulling me into a passionate kiss. This kiss was different from any we had shared before. It was full of need and desire. I wrapped my hands around his neck and tried pulling him closer towards me.
After what seemed like a lifetime, we pulled away, both of us panting. "Daisy, I tried to be patient and give you your space, but I can't take it anymore. I'm going crazy. Please tell me you'll be mine, " he said, and my eyes widened. "No, Daisy, I don't mean sex. I mean you. Please tell me you'll be my girlfriend," he said, and my eyes went wide again.
For once, without giving it too much thought, I replied, "ok. I'll be your girlfriend." Smiling at him.
Dominic smiled at me and then pulled me into a kiss.
