Daisy POV
As we approached our table, the weight of everyone's stares bore down on me. I was offered a drink, and I accepted. I was definitely going to need it.
With each glance around the room, I realized that nearly every pair of eyes was fixated on me.
Then, I noticed Isabella—a woman who had kissed Dominic—staring directly at me. She deliberately began laughing, prompting those around her to join in.
Ignoring her taunts, I decided to excuse myself to the restroom. "Hey, Zayden, I'm going to use the restroom," I informed him.
"Of course. Let's go," he replied.
"You don't have to come with me," I protested.
"Actually, I do. Dominic would kill me if I left you by yourself," he explained.
"Okay," I agreed, and Zayden accompanied me to the restroom.
"I obviously can't go in, but I'll wait for you right here," Zayden offered, pointing toward the bathroom entrance.
"Alright," I responded and entered the restroom.
As I entered, the women present eyed me critically. Seeking a moment alone, I stepped into a bathroom stall, taking a deep breath. I didn't really need to use the restroom; I simply needed a moment to calm myself.
Emerging from the stall, I found myself face to face with Isabella and her friends. "Well, well, well. Look who we have here— tonight's star guest. The ugly fat freak," she sneered, provoking laughter from her friends. I chose to ignore her and proceeded to the sink to wash my hands. "Why so quiet, huh?" she jeered, standing behind me.
Completing my task, I tried to make my way to the exit, but Isabella blocked my path. "You do know that Dominic is only with you out of pity, right? No man would choose you over me. Believe me when I say Dominic and I have slept together countless times, and he always comes back for more."
I attempted to walk past her, but she continued to obstruct me. "Why don't you say anything, you fat hag? I just don't see what Dominic sees in you. You reek of virginity. You probably haven't even slept with him. Believe me, sweetheart, Dominic loves sex. He thrives on it. He's going to get tired of you real soon, and he'll be crawling back to me," she taunted. "Ugh, you're so dull and boring. I'm already bored of being around you. Come on, let's get out of here, girls," she declared, followed by her friends.
Suppressing the tears that threatened to cascade down my face, I took a deep breath. Years of torment from my father had taught me how to keep my composure and pretend that everything was alright. I wiped away the tears and made my way outside. Zayden appeared concerned.
"Daisy, are you okay?" he asked worriedly.
"I'm fine, Zayden," I assured him, forcing a smile.
"Are you sure? I saw Isabella and her minions leave the restroom," he pressed, his concern evident.
"I'm okay, Zayden. Really," I reiterated. Zayden nodded, and we returned to our table.
Upon reaching our table, I finally spotted Dominic's presence, though he was still surrounded by a crowd. Catching sight of me, he immediately excused himself and made his way towards me.
He walked up to me and heextended his hand up to me. I gave him a confused look but I took it.
He lead me to the dance floor and I panicked. "Dominic I don't know l how to dance" I said.
"It's fine, just follow my lead" he said. He didn't give me a chance to answer before he pulled out on the dance floor.
"Daisy tell me what happened" he said with a stern look.
"What do you mean? Nothing happened." I whispered.
"Daisy don't lie to me. I know Isabella and her friends were with you in the restroom. I can see it in your eyes. You're not ok." He said.
"I'm fine" I said.
"Fine if you don't want to tell me, then come on" he said as he grabbed my arm and I followed him.
"Where are we going?" I asked him as we made our way across the venue.
"Home" he responded.
"But we just got here." I said.
"I don't care, we're leaving" he said.
I felt extremely guilty. We are leaving because of me. This night meant so much to Dominic, and I ruined it.
