Daisy POV
Lily turned to Dominic with a hopeful expression on her face. "Can we go to the carnival?" she asked him. "I've been asking Daisy, but she said we're not allowed to go out."
"She's right; you two aren't allowed to go out, but you two can go out with me" Dominic replied and Lily smiled.
"I'm going to get ready!" she announced, darting out of the room.
Once Lily had gone, I turned to Damon and asked, "How are you feeling?" he asked.
"Great! I had a wonderful nurse yesterday," he replied, and I could feel my cheeks grow warm.
"That's good. I'm going to get changed," I said, eager to escape the awkward moment.
As I walked out of the room, I heard Lily knocking at my door. "Are you ready?" she called out.
I opened the door, and Lily pulled me by the hand, eager to head downstairs. Dominic was waiting for us, and soon we were on our way to the carnival.
As we walked around, Lily held both mine and Dominic's hand. We played games, and Dominic won every single one of them. Then Lily wanted to go on a few rides, and although Dominic declined, I was happy to go with her.
Lily wanted to go on a particular game, but there was a height limit, and I couldn't get on with her. So she went on by herself, and Damon and I waited for her.
"My sister adores you," Dominic said as he stood next to me.
"She's a wonderful kid. I adore her too," I replied.
"Her teacher called. Thanks for looking out for my sister," he said. "However, you should have told me."
"I know, I'm sorry. Lily didn't want to say anything. The only way she would tell me is if I promised not to tell you anything. She didn't want me to say anything to her teacher either, but I had to do something," I said.
"I understand, but don't ever hide anything from me," he said.
"Ok, I won't," I replied.
Just then, Lily returned from the ride, and we decided it was time to head home. "Can we get ice cream before we go?" Lily asked.
"Ok, let's go," Dominic said, and Lily beamed.
We got in line, and Domimic got a call on his phone. "I'll be right back. Don't go anywhere," he said.
"Ok, we are just getting ice cream," Lily replied as he walked away to talk on the phone.
Lily got some ice cream, and we waited for Dominic to finish his phone call. There were so many people walking around us, and suddenly, out of nowhere, I saw a guy holding a gun. To make matters worse, he was pointing it at Lily.
"Dominic! He has a gun!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. All hell broke loose. I pulled Lily towards me and shielded her with my body, as everyone around us started running. I heard the gun go off as I shielded Lily, and I felt something hit my arm.
Then I looked up and saw Dominic's men running after the guy, and Domonic running towards us. "Lily, are you ok?" I asked her, full of concern.
"I'm ok," she said, and just then, Dominic reached us. He made sure Lily was ok, then picked her up and grabbed my hand as we ran to his car.
Dominic threw us in the back seat and drove so fast I was scared we were going to crash. When we arrived home, Lily had fallen asleep, unaware of what was going on. But I started playing with her hair and she fell asleep.
Domimic opened the back seat, and he picked up Lily. Zayden was there. Dominic handed Lily to Zayden and asked him to take her to her room.
Then Dominic looked down at me. "You got shot," he said, looking at my arm. I had completely forgotten about that. Must have been the adrenaline rush. "Come on. Let me take a look at it, " he said, and I nodded.
He took me to what looked like an infirmary, and there was a man there in a white coat. "Dr. Steven's she's been shot. Please take a look at it, " Dominic said.
"Of course," Dr. Steven's said and examined my arm. "Thankfully, the bullet just grase you. You are going to need a few stiches, but you should be fine, " he said. I simply nodded.
The doctor stiched me up and then said I was good to go. Dominic was by my side the whole time. He didn't say a word.
Once I was done. I got up, but I felt a little lightheaded. "Careful now," the doctor said.
"Is she ok, doc?" Dominic asked.
"Yes. She's fine. She did lose a little blood. That's probably why she is lightheaded, but she doesn't need a Transfusion. She just needs to rest, and she should be fine, " he said.
"Got it Thanks doc" he said.
Then put of nowhere Dominic picked me up. "Dominic, what are you doing?" I protested.
"I taking you to your room," he said as he walked don't of the room.
"Dominic, I'm fine. You don't have to carry me." He didn't say anything he just continued walking. "Dominic, please put me down." I said once again, but he ignored me. My God. I was so heavy. This was so embarrassing. When we reached the stairs, I tried fighting him. "Dominic, please let me down," I pleaded.
"Not happening. So I suggest you stop asking, " he said as he made his way up the stairs.
We finally reached my room, and he sat me down on the bed. My goodness, that was one of the most embarrassing things I've ever experienced.
Dominic sat down next to me. "You saved my sister again," he said, looking into my eyes again. "Why?" He asked.
"Dominic, I told you. I would do anything for you, sister. I wasn't just going to stand there and do nothing, " I said, and he looked intensely into my eyes.
Then, put off nowhere, he kissed me. He grabbed my face and kissed me. I was in complete shock. It was my first kiss, and I would be lying if I said that it wasn't amazing.
Then Dominic pulled away. He looked me in the eyes, and without saying a word, he walked out of my room.
