Daisy POVI was walking down the street and I noticed a newspaper stand. All the magazines had a picture of Dominic and Isabella. They're engaged and honestly they seem perfect for each other. I hate to admit it but I cried when I found out. I wish I could hate Dominic and just forget about him.
I decided to run a few errands today, so I made my way to the nearby market. The simple act of buying groceries and sipping a comforting cup of hot chocolate felt like a rare moment I could pretend my life was normal.
I can't believe its been eight long months. All this time Anthony and I have been on the run, But now, with my due date being so close, Anthony managed to secure a safe house for us.
As I made my way back home, a gentle flutter stirred within me. I placed a hand on my swollen stomach and smiled, feeling the reassuring kicks of our unborn child. It was a reminder of the precious life we were fighting to protect.
I opened the front door, and then I yelled Anthonys name. "Anthony i just got home from the market and I brought you back some hot chocolate" i said. I didn't hear him yell back which I found strange.
I waked into the living and the serenity I was just feeling, shattered. My eyes widened in disbelief and fear as I looked the sight before me.
Dominic sat in the living room, his piercing gaze fixed upon me. The memories of our past flooded my mind, and I couldn't help but glance over at Anthony, who was encircled by Dominic's menacing men. Tension hung heavy in the air, as if on the precipice of an imminent clash.
I mustered the strength to speak his name, my voice barely above a whisper, "Dominic."
He acknowledged me with a nod, his voice carrying a hint of regret, "Daisy."
A single tear escaped my eye, tracing a path down my cheek. I pleaded silently, praying that no harm would come to us. Dominic approached me, his voice a mere murmur as he whispered in my ear. His words sent a shiver down my spine, tinged with a chilling mix of threat and compromise.
"I'm here to talk. I don't want to hurt anyone. Come with me peacefully, and I won't harm Anthony," he breathed against my skin.
Fear gripped me, tightening its hold around my heart. Anthony had been my rock, my protector throughout our journey. I couldn't bear the thought of any harm befalling him. Swallowing my fear, I mustered the courage to respond, "Okay."
My gaze locked with Anthony's, and I silently mouthed "Please," my eyes begging him to trust my judgment, to refrain from any impulsive actions. His solemn nod reassured me that he understood, and I turned my attention back to Dominic.
"I won't hurt anyone if you two cooperate with me," Dominic asserted, his voice laced with authority. "Now, we're all going to get on a plane and head back home. Understood?"
I nodded, my heart heavy with uncertainty, clinging to a sliver of hope that this might be a chance for a new beginning. Dominic's smile sent a chill down my spine, but I knew that compliance was our best option for now. As he took my hand and led me out of the house, I couldn't ignore the sense of foreboding that hung in the air.
Boarding Dominic's private jet, the confinement of the space seemed to amplify the tension. Anthony was bound, rendered powerless by Dominic's men, their eyes vigilant to quell any resistance. I found solace in the rhythmic movements of our unborn child within me, a reminder of the precious life that relied on our strength and resilience.
Upon landing, we stepped off the plane into an uncertain future. Separate cars awaited us, intensifying the ache of our separation. Anthony's protest echoed through the air, his concern for our safety palpable, but I pleaded with my eyes, silently urging him to cooperate. I couldn't bear to see him hurt.
The car ride home was filled with an oppressive silence, each passing moment carrying the weight of uncertainty. As we pulled up to the mansion, memories flooded my mind, threatening to overwhelm me. It felt like a distant dream, a place I had once called home but now seemed foreign and distant.
Stepping inside, I was instantly greeted by Lily, whose presence brought both comfort and a renewed surge of emotions. "Daisy," she exclaimed, rushing to embrace me, her arms a lifeline in this sea of uncertainty.
Dominic's voice cut through the moment, a stark reminder of the fragile balance we were treading. "Be careful, Lily," he warned, standing steadfastly beside me.
Tears welled up in my eyes as I tightened my embrace around Lily, my voice quivering with gratitude, "I'm so glad you're okay. Please promise me you won't do that ever again." The memory of her unwavering support during our escape remained etched in my heart.
A mischievous smile played on Lily's lips as she replied, "I wanted to protect the baby. I am the auntie, after all."
A mix of emotions surged within me-gratitude, concern, and a fierce love for the sister who had risked everything for us. "Oh, Lily," I murmured, holding her close once more, seeking solace in her embrace.
Dominic's voice interrupted our tender moment, his words urging us towards another path. "Lily, why don't you go back to your room? I'm going to take Daisy upstairs," he suggested, his tone betraying an odd mix of authority and concern.
I nodded, my heart pounding as I looked at Dominic. "Shall we?" he asked, extending his hand to me.
With a deep breath, I nodded again, feeling a mix of trepidation and resignation as I walked upstairs, Dominic at my side, the g future looming before us.
