Part 9

It's been about three days since Val agreed to let me court her, which means that I've been trying my hardest to woo her.

Every morning I texted her a compliment or two and asked how she was doing with the court thing with her ex. I also asked about Jonathan, who apparently wanted to see me again, so we decided that I should go over tomorrow. This time all three of us.

She has been receiving my compliments with adoration, and hopefully I haven't been too pushy. I'm sure she would have said something if I have though...

We're in class and miss Washington walked in, silencing the classroom. Ron's clearly still head over heels for her, with the way he's staring at her. I swear I saw him take a peek at her ass too so clearly the feelings were getting a little sexual, even.

I'm glad she's the only one he's been looking at, I would have beat his ass otherwise. I don't condone or accept cheating, no excuse is ever valid. Not that he's under obligation to be with her or be loyal, but I hate fuckboys.
But speaking of sexual feelings, Joanne seems to be checking him out every other minute or so. I do still feels bit iffy about them being student and teacher, but 'live and let live' I guess. I can't really speak on the presumable age gap since I have one with Val too. 11 years to be exact, 19 and 30. I wonder how old Joanne is?

"Ronnie, how old is she? Do you know?" I whispered trying not to draw attention. "She's 31. Of course I asked her, I had to know if it would be appropriate!" He hissed.
Damn, he is 18 and she is 31, two years more than my age gap. Well, if the two of them are comfortable I'll let it go. I wonder if there's been any progress...

"So uhh anything new with her?" I asked Ronnie.
"Well, we talk every day and she doesn't mind it when I text her about stuff related to things outside of school, so I feel like we're getting closer." He whispered, very quietly so Joanne couldn't hear him boasting.
"That's awesome, keep reeling her in and you'll catch her, I know it. Any trouble with her? Any possible upcoming obstacles?" I questioned.

"Hmm, not really? She's pretty hard to warm up to, but so far nothing else has come up. I don't think she's divorced or even has a recent relationship going on." He said thinking.
I'm happy if there really isn't anything that could come between them, but it's hard to believe. Most relationships have rocky patches. Maybe he will find out something crazy about her... I shouldn't manifest it, so I'll stop thinking about that possibility.

The class ended so I ushered Ronnie to Joanne. She seemed to light up a bit when she saw him coming which I thought was really sweet. I stayed to eavesdrop on their conversation just outside the door. You can't blame me, can you?

"Hey Joanne. How was your day?" He asked, not sounding too nervous anymore but more like he was getting used to talking to her.

"It's alright, full of students and teaching as always." She said. I notice that she sounds a little less cold now, but still kind of like she was struggling to find the right words. Maybe she has trouble with socializing?

"Can I make your day any better?" Ronnie tried to hint at something. He can't mean...
"You're sweet, but like I've told you before there are many issues with us being anything..." She lowered her voice so I could barely hear.
"C'mon, just one date! I'll prove that I can be enough for you! I'll prove that this could be worth the trouble! I'll graduate soon anyway, we would only have to keep the secret for what, 8 months?" he begged and begged. Ohhh he was talking about a date and nothing else... my mind needs cleaning.

I heard Joanne sigh and stay silent for a bit, possibly thinking about whether or not she should give in. "Fine, one date. But we won't call it that, let's say it's a meeting instead. Just between friends. That way it's not as suspicious." She said. I started grinning like an idiot and almost jumping like a clown. We've both found our openings! Now he just needs to make sure he doesn't push too far, I'll try to coach him through it. But then again he's the successful playboy, not me.
