"Daddy!"

Christian smiled when he saw Sabrina running over to him. He squatted down and scooped her up into his arms. He held her close to him and kissed her forehead. Christian could feel his heart filling up.

"Daddy!"

"Morgan!" Christian smiled.

He saw Morgan running over to him. He smiled seeing how big he was. He couldn't believe that his son was going to be three in a few months. Morgan hugged him.

"Hey, buddy! I've missed you."

"Missed you too!"

Morgan fixed him with a big smile. Christian was struck by how similar his eyes were to Hallee's—a blue grey that showed every emotion. He kissed Morgan's forehead.

"Uhm, here are their passports," Hallee walked over.

"Thank you," he smiled at her.

"Of course. Congratulations on a great season."

"Thanks. Finally felt like myself again out there."

"You looked happy like you were at Dortmund," Hallee's words sent a pang to his chest.

"Yeah," he nodded.

"I hope you three have a great time at the Champion's League Final."

"Thanks!" Christian grinned, "have you decided if you're going to take the host job for the World Cup with us?"

"I haven't yet," she sighed, running her fingers through her hair, "I, uhm. I don't know. There's a lot to consider. I don't know if I want Sabrina and Morgan in Qatar."

Christian's jaw dropped in shock, "Hallee, it's the World Cup. Do you know how incredible it would be to have my kids there while I'm captaining my country."

"I know, Christian. I know, but I don't know about it. It's—it's a lot. We both would be so busy-"

"So we bring a nanny!"

"Christian—"

"HALLEE! Those are going to be some of the most important games of my life, and you won't let my children be there?!"

"Daddy?" Sabrina asked.

"Christian, people are staring—"

"Let them! I cannot believe what I'm hearing!" Christian glared at the woman he thought he would grow old with.

"Let's figure out a time to talk about this with move level heads that's not in the middle of an airport."

"Fine," Christian nodded.

"Have a good summer. See you in a couple of months."

"You too," he muttered.

Hallee gave him a weak smile before walking away. Her hands were stuffed in her pockets, with her head hanging down.

Christian's blood was boiling. He had been looking forward to having Sabrina and Morgan in Qatar with him for the World Cup. It would be so special to have his children there cheering him on. Hallee always sent pictures of them in his Real Sociedad jersey. The thought of them not being there made his heart hurt.

"Bye, mommy!" Sabrina walked back over to Hallee.

"Bye, sweetheart. You have a good time with daddy, okay?"

"Yes!" Sabrina hugged her.

Morgan went back over to Hallee and hugged her. He climbed back in her arms. Christian watched as Hallee cuddled both of their children on the floor of the airport. People walked around them. There was plenty of staring, and he could see fans hovering, hoping to maybe get a picture and autograph.

"I'll see you both soon," Hallee stood up.

"'Mommy, don't go," Morgan whimpered.

"You're gonna go with daddy," Hallee picked him up.

"No! Mommy you come too!"

"Morgan, sweetie, I have to work. You're going to spend the summer with daddy, okay?"

"No!" Morgan clung to her.

"Morgan," Hallee sighed, "I'm sorry, Christian. He didn't get his usual nap. He was too excited about flying."

"It's okay."

Hallee tried to give Morgan to Christian, but their son screamed. Hallee cuddled him and kissed his forehead. Christian hovered close by before reaching out to rub his back. He hasn't considered how much harder it would be on Morgan to leave Hallee for the summer. Morgan was sobbing and having a full on tantrum.

"Morgan, please," Hallee murmured and kissed his forehead.

"Mommy, don't leave me!"

"I'll talk to you every day."

"Promise," he looked at her.

"I promise," she held out her pinky.

They linked pinkies for a second. Hallee kissed his forehead and carefully gave Morgan to Christian. Christian kissed his forehead and held him close.

"We're going to have a great time!" He promised.

"Okay," Morgan mumbled.

"Bye, mommy!" Sabrina waved.

"Bye, sweetie."

"I'll see you in Spain in a couple months," Hallee looked at Christian.

"Yeah. Sounds good. Have a good summer. Hope the Revs turn it around."

"Me too," Hallee shook her head.

Christian held his hand out to Hallee. She shook his hand with a small smile. Their hand shake sent chills up his spine. He missed her. None of his girlfriends held a candle to his ex-wife.
