Y/n POV
When Markus told me what happened when he followed Drac, I was pretty disappointed in him. But I shook it off quickly and forgave him, because I knew he and Mavis would change their minds later.
...
The next night rolled around and everyone was pretty excited for the party, except for Drac and I.
Drac was still bummed out at being rejected, so that's why he wasn't as excited about the party. But I was terrified of knowing what going to happen in a few minutes.
We went towards a hall that had angler fish lighting up the way.
"Ah, guess the party's this way." Griffin said. Everyone cheered as we walked through the hall but I was still nervous.
Markus noticed this and gently held my hand. "He'll be alright." He whispered to me. I looked at him, knowing he was talking about his dad.
I nodded and mustered up a smile, he didn't seem totally convinced, but he decided not to question me any further. I sighed out of relief and smiled once I noticed he hasn't pulled his hand away.
"Let's get this party started right!" Murray yelled as passed us.
We silently giggled at his antics and continued to walk until everyone came to a stop, looking at the edge confused.
"Huh? I thought they said the party was this way." Eunice said, disappointed at the false information.
Suddenly, music was heard and everyone looked around to see where it was coming from.
I momentarily shook my fear away and grinned once the epic part was coming up.
Naomi and Luka peaked behind Markus's legs and looked down once a huge pillar was surfacing.
Lights shot up as we all watched in awe at the party. Music blared loudly, and an Atlantan popped out of a shell with his DJ supplies. (I don't know what it's called, forgive me. 😭)
"DJ in a clamshell? I'm so jealous." Johnny gasped in amazement.
Suddenly, a bridge popped out of the water and it started to assemble, finally making it towards us. We all cheered and ran towards the party.
Everyone started dancing but Markus and I were sadly watching a sad Drac dance.
"I can't believe my dad zinged with someone who's trying to kill him." Markus sighed, a conflicted look across his face.
"Yeah, well, a zing can make you do some crazy things." I told him.
He looked at me with an unamused face. "Really, y/n." He told me.
"Hey, your dad almost sacrificed himself for our happiness when you and I were almost separated. Why can't you let him be happy, hun?" I asked him making him look down in sadness and guilt. I gently smiled at him, I walked towards him and lifted his chin up gently. "Look at me, Ericka isn't so bad. Plus, I saw the look in her eyes when she see's Drac, I think she loves him." I smiled.
"You're right. I also saw the sad look on her face when she left my dad. Thanks, sweetheart." He thanked me, kissing my head and walking towards Drac.
"Whoa, you sure know how to make Dad feel better, Mom." Naomi said, her and Luka looking at me with amazed faces.
"You just gotta say what you think is right sometimes. Now, let's get back to dancing, your father is going to handle Papa Drac in the meantime." I told them and began to dance with the kids.
Markus's POV
I squeezed through the crowd, trying to get to my dad, and luckily I made it.
"Dad? You have to talk to Ericka." I told him.
"What?" He exclaimed, turning to look at me with a shocked look.
"I know. I know what I said before, but maybe Mavis and I overreacted a teensy bit." I smiled sheepishly at him. "It's just the thought of losing you." I confessed, looking down sadly.
"What? What are you talking about, losing me?" Drac asked, confused as to what I was talking about.
"Well, obviously, after you get married, you're gonna live on the ship and travel around the world-." I started to explain but he cut me off.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Slow down, Markus. There are two things I can promise you. One, nothing can ever take me from you, Mavis and all my family. Two, I will never live on a boat." He said, looking away with a disgusted face on the last part. I gently smiled up at him as he smiled back. He brought me in for a hug and I hugged back. "You and Mavis are my cute little tarantulas. How could I ever leave you two?" He cooed making me chuckle.
I suddenly widened my eyes and grabbed his shoulders. "Now, seriously, go talk to her." I commanded him.
"I can't. You heard what she said, she could never be with someone like me." He told me with a solemn look.
"No, Dad. When y/n was almost leaving Transylvania, you sacrificed yourself to bring her to me, because you knew how sad I was when she left. You made me happy, now it's my turn to let you do the same." I said, remembering the words y/n told me.
"You sound like y/n." He smiled at me.
"Point is, you can't deny a zing. Monster, human, unicorn... it doesn't matter." I shrugged with a smile. Dad slowly smiled at my words. "So go to her! Now!" I encouraged him.
"Okay. I'm on it." He told me. He started to walk away but the lights went off making him stop.
"Hey, man, you're not allowed up here. The DJ booth is a sacred place." We heard the DJ tell someone but he suddenly screamed once he was pushed off the podium.
The screen turned on showing a very old man. Everyone gasped after seeing him, disgusted and shocked at his features.
"Who is this?" Dad asked while looking at the man carefully.
"Ha! I know you recognize me, your greatest rival." The old man told my dad with a grin.
"Hmm. Oh, right. You own that holiday Inn down by the airport." My dad said making the old man frown in disappointment.
"No! It is I, Abraham Van Helsing!" He introduced himself.
I walked closer to my dad while looking at Van Helsing in shock. "Van Helsing? After all these years? You look awful." My dad insulted making Van Helsing frown.
"Always with the quick insults. Well, this will shut you up. And all monsters." He yelled, pulling out a tiny statue of a tentacle.
"Eh, huh? That's just Ericka's family heirloom thingy." My dad shrugged off.
"Good one, Ericka." Van Helsing laughed as Ericka slowly walked out from behind him.
"Ericka?" Dad asked, confused as to why she was there with Van Helsing.
"You fool. Not only is she the ship's captain, but she also happens to be...." Van Helsing laughed then looked at Ericka. "Wait. You tell him." He told her.
"I'm his great-granddaughter. I'm Ericka Van Helsing." She introduced herself formally making me glare up at her.
"I knew there was something wrong with her." I muttered, glaring intensely at the captain.
"But...." Dad muttered making me soften my glare and look at him sadly.
"I- See, what happened... I-I...." She looked down, not knowing what to say making me look at her confused.
"Now that we're all caught up, let's get back to the dying." Van Helsing announced as he held up the statue.
