Y/n POV
Night time had rolled around and now Drac and I were sitting by the fire roasting marshmallows. Johnny was flying above us with a grin.
"Johnny, sit down. You're going to put out the fire." I giggled.
"Ah, man. Boy, that was fun." Johnny commented, flying a bit above me.
"Right. Getting lost and almost falling to your death is super fun." Drac sarcastically smiled.
"Okay, Mr. Cranky Fangs. Whatever you say." I chuckled at him.
"What are you talking about?" Drac asked me. He suddenly screamed when his marshmallow started to burn. He blew out the fire and frowned at his black marshmallow. "Ah, no, it's ruined." He whined.
"See? That. That's what I'm talking about." I chuckled while gesturing at the scene. "If you only see the worst in things, you'll miss the best part." I explained.
"Here, look, look, look, look." Johnny said, looking around for something. He grabbed a marshmallow and showed it to Drac. "At first, a tasty marshmallow. Then...." He put the marshmallow on a stick and breathed out some fire, burning the marshmallow like Drac's. "Oh, no! It's on fire and ruined!" He 'panicked'. "But blow out the fire...." He blew out the fire and split the marshmallow in half. "And crack open the burnt stuff, you'll find something sweet and gooey inside." He explained. Slurping the marshmallow, he licked his finger when he was done.
"You just have to look for it." I explained a little more simply.
Drac looked at us with an unimpressed expression for a bit. He grabbed half of the marshmallow and poked it. Looking at his finger, he licked the gooey stuff off of it and smiled in delight.
He ate the entire marshmallow and smiled. "Gooeylicious!" He exclaimed. We all started laughing at Drac's comment. Once we stopped, Drac sighed. "I guess it's always been hard for me to see the positive side of things." He informed us, putting another marshmallow on the stick. "You know, raising twins on your own for so long, you're constantly worried." He frowned. "Always fearing the worst. That's why I built the hotel. To protect them. To protect all of us." He explained to us. Johnny and I smiled gently at his explanation, understanding what Drac's been through. "It's... It's part of our family. Sorry." He sniffled. "Maybe... Maybe it's this new me, but I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed."
"No, Drac, it's okay." Johnny reassured him. "We totally get it. The hotel- it's something really special. And the fact that you would trust us with something so important, we just can't tell you how much that means to us." He smiled gently. I made an awkward face as I continued to roast my marshmallow.
I looked at Drac and saw that he had frowned. He faced away from us, so the only thing we saw was his back. "I... I need to tell you two something." Drac sighed.
"What is it, Drac?" Johnny asked calmly. I looked at Drac with a gentle look, even though he couldn't see me.
"Johnny, the truth is that there is no monster real-." He got interrupted when headlights shone our way.
A car stopped right in front of us. I rubbed my eyes because I accidentally looked directly into the lights.
When I uncovered my eyes, I saw a figure rushing towards me. "Y/n!" I heard Markus yell. He tackled me to the ground and hugged me tightly. I smiled at him and hugged him just as tight.
"You're okay, right? No outbursts?" He asked me, lifting me off the ground and checking to see if I had any injuries.
"I'm fine." I chuckled at him. He gasped when he saw my teeth. Gently pulling my upper lip up a bit, he started to get a better look at them.
